Help - Steam

Rotten Meat Group: Members Posts: 8 Joined: July 12, 2004	I downloaded the client of 1.2 and its ok i can play on Won but then i tried to play on steam by instaling it on the directory of steam apps/half life and when i launch the game first the background is the standar half life's one, and when i tried to join a server it said my client.dll differed from the serve's ,so i think there is a special PE for steam???

The server you were trying to connect was our beta1.4 testserver so you can't connect with the 1.2 client. Einherjar Group: IronOak Leader (Admin) Posts: 1337 Joined: July 14, 2002	I'll update the server soon, the patch seems to be more recent than the server (or the other way around ) /e: Anyways you can play with bots without connecting to the server, just type "addbot" in the console a few times. (bug : when you die and go get another weapon, sometimes the weapon change dont work and/or you respawn with no equipement at all. dislikes: the game is too dark you must put your luminausity to 100%, or go to the buy panel and everything around you will get lighter to see + bots are dumb and fall at the begining at the game ROFL )

(btw: what do you mean by go to the buy panel? Rotten Meat Group: Members Posts: 8 Joined: July 12, 2004	yea the equipment menu brighten the background of the real game and you can see real good then!! with gamma and brightness max its still too dark for me i must change my screen settings everytime! For the bots if i know how the waypoints works i'll make them all go in 1 point of the map and do a war ;D
