Things that would be cool to do:
1.Move large planks of wood and tie them down against a door
2.weld metal to metal objects
3.place boards on doors preventing them from opening
3.make traps for the zombies (ie. spike pits, cars falling, explosives)
4.improvise weapons dead rising style

If anyone's ever played the Source Forts mod, that would work perfectly. Instead of using a gravity gun to pick up items and "freeze" them in place, you'd pick them up with E, an use tools (occupying a weapon slot) to nail / weld them in place.

Problem being is that brainbread is not a defensive-based game. It would never be used properly, if at all.I can safely say I've never played on a BB server and ever once felt surrounded by the zombies at the spawn point.

If they came up with a defense map that is actually unique (not that unoriginal crap where you 'defend the house for fifteen minutes!!11!', it's overdone), then I would be all for it. As long as it's not in the first release, but maybe later on. My two cents.

But think of the uses of barricading in maps like the mall map (cant remember name) since the zombies are supposed to be smarter then bb ones, you can't hide out of reach and sniper them all, or be on a ledge and head shot them all.

Well, perhaps like in Counter-Strike, the maps should have different suffixes that denote what type of gameplay to expect.

So if you want to play on a defensive map, you could search for "def_" maps, for map that see players more "on the run" then perhaps "esc_" for escape.

Imagine a map based on your street - quite open and linear, so no point in barricades. Now imagine the Zombies are spawning outside your front door, then you gave to build barricades, and eventually run up the stairs and out to the roof...?

I could imagine people barricading other players inside a room or outside the designated area, just to be an ass. Sounds funny.

Yes, yes, this'd be a good idea for defend maps... much like that one map, I forgot the name, but you're in a mansion and stuff and zombies are outside.

Try Zombie Master. It's nowhere near as good as Brain BRead source will be, but there are a few defence levels that are quite fun smile.gif

(I spent the last 3 hours on my rubbish internet downloading Zombie Panic Source which is 600MB, then discovered the game I was looking for was in fact Zombie Master, which is a mere 50MB) sad.gif
