Brainbread: Source

INTRODUCTION:

I love Brainbread. I use to play it all the time, but then my computer crashed so now i have to redownload it.
Im really looking forward to the Source version. Better graphics, faster gameplay, more possibilities, better maps, it's going to be so exciting.
However, now that Brainbread has access to the Source Engine, i think it's time for the BB developers to really, step-up to plate. I mean, Brainbread is a great game, dont get me wrong, but it has so much potential to be an even greater game, and the Source Engine can allow that to happen.

WHY IS BRAINBREAD, SUCH A GOOD GAME?

I recently asked myself, why do i like BB so much? It's not because im into killing dead people, or watching zombie heads being blown apart, (dont get me wrong, that stuffs pretty cool), but it's something a little more than that.
Brainbread is one of the only games where i can join a server and be happily greeted by other human players. One of the only games where i can join a server, and actually find people cooperating and working as a team.
And you know why that is?

Cause we all have one, common enemy. Zombies.

When you play this game, no one cares about what you look like, or how you act, or what religion you are, or what ice-cream you prefer; everyone's focused on one thing; human survival and prevail. Theres no time to worry about all that other crap. All your focused on is defending off the A.I zombies, in order to keep the human race in exsistence. Even if that means running out to save one of your fellow teammates from getting cornered. And thats what makes this game such a great game to play.

SOURCE ENGINE:

The source engine is going to give this game a whole new perspective. One of the main things it's going to help with, is realism. The original version of Brainbread, does a decent job convincing you that what's going on is real, but the Source Engine is really going to put you in the game. It's going to do a way better job convincing you that what's going on, is actually happening.
(At least to those of you who are real BB fanatics; like me happy.gif .)

MORE SCARE!

I think one thing the game developers for BB Source need to work on, is changing the game from an unrealistic action-shooter, to a realistic, survival shooter.
The original BB, is fun, and action-packed, leaving people in a mental-state of too much confidence.
It needs to be way scarier, and i think a lot of that has to do with the poor, unconviencing graphics of half-life 1.
The Scource Engine will allow for a much more realistic game, which will grant the option to make it a scarier one, in return.
And thats exactly what this game needs. A way scarier tone.

In the original BB, no matter how scary they try to make the situation, I always have the urge to burst out into "rambo mode" not really caring much about being attacked, and that's because the fear of being attacked, is so poor.

However you can fix that with the Source Engine.
The idea is to make the zombies, as well as the environment, so scary that I'd much hunker-down and hide, rather than have the balls to pick-up a gun and run around the map as i laugh and shoot my way through the flood of zombies.

ZOMBIE CLASSES:

Now i've read a lot of posts about new zombie classes/creatures, and some of them just sound really retarded. No offense to anyone.
I really dont see the need for zombie classes. It's not like there are multiple types of zombies. A zombie is a zombie. They all do the same thing: stumble around, grab hold of you and try to bite your neck.

As long as you have a decent amount of zombies, then there's really no need for a special zombie class. (Other than some zombies might hold melee weapons, while others dont.)

ZOMBIE MODELS:

I dont know if anyone has noticed, but the zombies in the original BB remind me of characters from GREASE. Lol, its more funny than it is scary. Definitely something the BB:Source developers need to work on. Making the zombies look much more practical and realistic.

Maps should also play an effect on what the zombies look like. If your in a mall (Which, btw, I think would make a great map for BB:Source.) then you'll want zombies that look like janitors, store clerks, mall shoppers, rent-a-cops, etc.

MAPS:

Maps can be creative, but must be practical and realistic.
Maps should also be much larger to instill a better sense of vulnerability and curiosity.

Map example:
o Mall - A fairly large map that resembles a realistic, 2-story, indoor-mall.

PLAYER MODELS:

Here's where you can have multiple, creative models. Just remember to stay practical.

X = Must have

My List:
o Mall/Store Security X
o Police Officer X
o Army Marine X
o Janitor
o Truck Driver
o Chef
o Biker Hog
o Businessman
o Stay-at-home mom
o Thug

WEAPONS:

Weapons should also stay practical. You're probably not goint to find an RPG, hidden somewhere in a cafe, but you would probably find a wooden chair.
Weapons should also be much more realistic with the amount of damage they can cause.

AUDIO:

High quality sound, with gloomy ambience playing and awesome, realistic sound effects.

HITBOXES:

Headshots are the fastest and easiest way to kill a zombie, but body shots should also kill a zombie. A good amount of body shots, that is!
As for limb shots, such as arms and legs, lol, good luck with that.
You're better off just focusing on the head or chest.

most ideas on there are both good and bad

i say there should be different styles of maps/playmodes some should be survival horror /realistic/hide style

others should be way BB is now
