I'm curious as to what kind of comps everyone has. Basic specs of mine is:

Emachines
Windows XP
160 GB HD Memory
GeForce 6200
1GB RAM
DVD/CD Writer/Burner
PCI 4 Slots + 1 AGP
3.3 GHZ (I think)

There's that then. BTW is it true BF2 runs mostly on RAM?

How can you find out your specs without pulling apart your computer and looking at the video card and memory size etc.. I know my hard drive total size though C: 144 GB and that the only drive i have lol.

A 16mb integrated graphics card?! Jimmy what the hell are you able to play? Half Life and everything before that? Geese man, you seriously need an update. I'd recommend a GeForce card from the 6 series or better yet the 7 series.

Ones I know from 6 (Come in 128mb-256mb)-

6100
6150
6200 (Mine, this is as low as you should go, cheap too)
6600 (Many have this one, pretty mainstream)
6800 (You can play every game that's out with this with good performance too)

Ones I know from 7 (Come in 256mb-512mb)-

7300
7700
7900 (The best...ever, it's over $300 though)

There's a whole other variations too like FX or GT or what not, but I really don't see the difference.

One VERY important thing. Get a card that uses a PCI slot. I made the mistake of getting an AGP one, the price is literally double a PCI card. The reason for this is because AGP is older, and the longer it has to be kept on the shelves, the higher the price for it.

Ive had this discussion over at HIT, OCI cards are no longer made, you are confusing them with PCI-E cards which have an entire different slot then the common PCI slots.

My Motherboard has 1 agp and 3, usless PCI slots.

I need an AGP card, and ive found a compatible ATI 256mb agp for $120, if not, ill search for a reasonable 256 ati under the $200 mark.

Youll be suprised with the ammount of games i can play, none of them really new but there are a few good ones:
HL and most mods.
The Thing
HL2-10FPS tongue.gif
Alien vs predator 1 & 2
Unreal & unreal tournament
All comand and conqure games before generals.
All very old games sad.gif
and......... *runs*

There are a few more, just cant remember them, seriosly. but i mostly rely on console games.

It sucks, I have all the ram, none of the video POWAR!!!

Nvidia Fan Boi ftw!!

--------------------
This is what Ive said for the past couple months every time has requested source: BB source is highly unlikely because the mod team (Ironoak) has decided to use the crystal engine to create an rpg, although they have said there is a small chance of going to source but please, for the sake of all mankind, do not request a port and/or create polls, or even useless threads about the porting of BB, because it is most likely not going to happen, thank you for reading.

ive read a lot reviews for the Nvidia cards that said they wernt as good as ATI so ill probably end up with ATI.

Tell you somthing that sucks, since the very first day it came out, i have had a copy of HL2 but ive only played it once for no more then 2 minutes.

Though i'd say FX is the 5 series (not a version or whatnot) and GT and Ultra versions have higher clock speed and gpu speed.

Oh and i don't know where you read that nvidia ain't as good as ATI but that's not true, should be though since ATI have been around a hell of a lot longer

I stay neutral on that sort of thing. I'll have a predilection to one brand, but I'm not going to state which one is better or not. It isn't my place. I prefer Nvidia simply I've used their cards much more than the ATI ones. It's also because the order of the numbers in the ATI cards is retardedly confusing. A Radeon 500 is newer than a 9600. It doesn't just doesn't go backwards either. I think the best ATI Radeon cards are the 1000s?

Well i looked through the review i mentioned and it was for one of the fx cards, had a big ass fan that covered 1 or 2 seperate slot, there fore making them useless, the review referd to a cheaper ati card that was way better then the nvidia one.

i love the thing, the last section was a pain in the ass though, bad thing is, i can no longer play it because it refuses to reinstall itself.
