There we are! Now i know what you mean by "The environment sucks"
I do realize that most of my maps have bugger all detail. Sine i quit Maplestory i have had more ideas for detail coming to me so i'm sure that my future maps will be a hell of a lot better. wink.gif

It's really up to you, but the reason why i quit was because i got bored of the game after loosing about 3 accounts.

Environment can refer to lighting\effects\rays\water\decals and so on.... not just detail wink.gif

Really, Bacon was giving critisism, that can be seen as constructive because his comments are stating for improvement although their rather harsh. You'll get that though, flattering and harsh critisism. All depends on if you'll get offended by them or take it in the stomache, improve from it and move on. Bacon is a really good mapper who knows alot, you could ask him for tips to improve.

I said your environments are boring. Do I need to say that your lighting, texturing, and brushwork is boring? I'm pretty sure that falls under the critique of "environment". anyway, that doesn't cover everything as there is, as you said, gameplay and optimization. Though, I don't know what that's like on your map, so I have no comment.

I do agree with you about the environments needing more detail such as needing more props or curved hallways instead of everything being flat and square.
My new map Orange is going to be the more detailed map I've ever made using brush work and i will possible add in some models but I'm nor entirely sure at this point.

Oh, I'm a 'dev fan', but only when it's used correctly. (aka for building the map, not as a final product). When morons make 'texture' maps that are pasted with that shit, and release it, it pisses me off. However, even though that's supposed to be a real map, the brushwork still looks boring. Make the brushwork more interesting.

Also, why is the ladder made from brushes?

I'm trying my best to make the brush work more interesting, if you have suggestions let me know because i am putting in all of my thought to the map rather than jsut makig n everything square.

I made it with brushes because i didn't want to add in a model which has the normal textures when i am trying to make everything only use the dev.
