Okay, i appreciate you guys trying and helping me out with my installation (yes i still haven't got it after about 5 HOURS of trying). Here's a thorough breakdown of my situation before i give up:

-Have HL installed (the whole HL platinum pack)
-Have HL 2 installed
-Have HL 2 Deathmatch
-Have CS:S installed
-Have Steam (but for HL2 installation...don't know if there's one for HL)
-Install screen for Brainbread comes up
-"Select Steam Half-Life folder, then click next" comes up (picking the folder)
-WHEN I BROWSE I HAVE TWO FOLDERS: STEAM AND VALVE
-The STEAM one is selected, then STEAMAPPS, then it goes to a folder NAMED "your email address>" (which IS the name of the folder); then that folder breaks down to the "halflife" folder.

-As for the VALVE folder: i can go to VALVE->STEAM->STEAMAPPS->*watch carefully* a FOLDER named "user_name"-> then THAT one opens up to "halflife"

-SO...if you've kept up with my desperate cry for help, WHICH folder do i use...STEAM or VALVE (i've tried both)

-btw (my point here also was to show that for HL1 i have folders with "user_name" for the name, while HL2 has "asanmiguel")

-PLEASE AND TRY ONE LAST TIME TO HELP ME INSTALL THIS

Ok, find a shortcut for steam, or make one. Then, right click it, and click properties.

Look for where it is located. Should be something to this,
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam
Mine goes to valve because I have a real old version of steam. But, see which of the two folders your steam shortcut goes to.

No, it does not affect brainbread.
Well, I don't know really.

I guess, all you have to do is place the half-life folder right back to your username folder, then while you install brainbread, DO NOT FORGET, to put your username in the steamapps/(your username here)/ or something part. Alright????

Dude, you have to install it under the Valve folder. If you get the installation process right, but BB still wont run, it could be that you have a corrupt installer.

If so, then download other BB .exe's from other mirros. Completely delete the BB folder you have now, and reinstall using the new BB .exe you downloaded. Keep trying untill BB works. I know it will take a long time, but in the end it works.

the normal directory is C:\program files\valve\steam. But some have only C:\program files\steam, it makes no difference same thing applies. Just instead of going into valve/steam/steammapps u go into steam/steamapps.
