It would be really cool for a game mapper to map the levels of House of the Dead I,II,III and maybe 4 just like the games since i have all of them (apart from 4 that isnt released). If a normal mapper (or a game mapper) and modeler and scripter (for the actions, damage and models) could do this I would really appreciete it since i thought "House of the Dead is a little bit like brainbread so some of the developers might be able to make maps for BB:S from House of the Dead" The thing is i dont know if any of you have played all the games too the end (I completed number 3 with the best score ^^) so if you dont know then maybe some others can help you. PS:If my idea makes it to BB:S or even BB too, I'd be so happy i'd probably play the source one every day rather than things like Garry's Mod and Prey PSS:im really liking the game even though im not in beta |

Never played it. Come to think of it, I've never really played any zombie games. Ever. (except mods like brainbread.) |

The 3rd one isnt hard on easy difficulty (just made it with 1 credit and 3,2 or 1 lives because boss really damages) however II and I are hard and 4 (on booth) doesent work with 1P gun anyway in II and I you can choose Rogan or G however in III you play as the daughter of Rogan and if 2 player G however in chapter 0 of III you play as Rogan and i got a S rank! (over A) it wasent that easy but it was sorta easy (like doing nothing) you should get the games or if you cant then try the booths however if booths, get your wallet out cause it wont be free. Note:look at my avatar to see what III is like (its also lag free!) and heres the pic link http://www.cf-network.com/cfan/IMG/jpg/3-248.jpg |

Lag-Free? If you want to make a House of the Dead map, then go for it, but I think it would add workload to the BBS Developers to ask them to make yet more maps. |

Make maps? I cant even make a 2-d world |

This is like a request or a suggestion. I like House of the Dead 3, since it had interesting settings... no I liked every single house of the dead. |

I dount this will happen. |
Posted by: Rogan February 18, 2008 04:46 pm |
atleast one person has played it and how come you doubt this will happen _CiviliaN^SoldieR_? |
Posted by: bacon333 February 18, 2008 04:59 pm |
Simply because we already have loads of things to implement in the game, as well as loads of maps that are already being developed. Anyway, it's a nice suggestion, but I just don't think we will be able to do it. Sorry. |

You dont have too do it if you cant because a coder, mapper and modeller could do it although i will need a big search |

Huh?? Bacon in a Mapper on the BBS team o.O |
Posted by: Rogan February 18, 2008 06:52 pm |
If I could I would play the beta but just dont know where to get it . Anyway on to the map thing...if i learnt how to code or map,I would but i cant besides i dont learn that anyway even though i whizz through typing storys on computer and doing formulas in Excel edit:Anyone know a normal mapper and coder? |
Posted by: SDWBOSS February 18, 2008 11:51 pm
a) The beta is not released yet. You'll have to either do it yourself or, if you can't learn how. It's very unlikely you can just find a mapper and get him/her to do a map for you, especially one who knows the "House of the Dead" levels. |

Give me a link to learn and give me the mapping and coding and scripting systems then ill do it oh and search up some premade ones if it would be too hard EDIT:can i have the Alpha then? |
Posted by: bacon333 February 19, 2008 06:05 pm |
No, you may not have the Alpha. Internal development only. It takes a long time to learn how to make good maps. I've been a mapper (on and off) for 4 years. Only recently have I started to put out my full potential in BBS development. If you want to give it a shot, go to Interlopers or the Snark Pit. Just please don't release your very first maps. No one's "first maps" look good. |

aww...wish i had the alpha |

So does pretty much everyone. |

obvious |

My first map was awesome - it was detailed down to electrons orbiting atoms in the brick walls, was vast beyond imagination, and was rich and original 110% of the time! But I couldn't be arsed to release it - after all, no-one would ever play any other map, so I just let it go... |
Posted by: Rogan February 19, 2008 09:00 pm
I need a manual |
Posted by: bacon333 February 19, 2008 09:48 pm
Electrons orbiting Atoms eh? Probably didn't run on any modern day computer, since it was so detailed. Just because you know how to map and can detail shit so well, doesn't mean it's going to run on anyone's computers. Oh, and the hammer grid is limited. I win. Bwhahaha.. |

Alas, how the subtleties of sarcasm elude you, Bacon |
Posted by: Andrew83 February 22, 2008 09:37 pm
For someone who whizzes through typing stories and doing formulas in Excel, something tells me the concept of punctuation seems to elude him as well. As cool as some elements of that game would be in BBS, I dont think you realize the massive amount of time that would go into making that, as well as the time that goes into all aspects of game design, or even understand what kind of requirements each person on a game design team has in their job. I'll admit Im new to it game design and dont understand all aspects of it myself, but I can tell you its quite a bit of work. I cant imagine being a major developer dealing with actual deadlines to get a game released to store shelves. Not to mention the backlash of releasing something that cost millions of dollars to produce and could potentially turn out to be a piece of crap. Go easy on the smilies dude 8===D~~ (_*_) |

I can map number 2, but as for 3. Well, you try to map a million pipes going through a building then making it 30 floors high. Anyway, I have played HOTD2 so much that I have everything stuck in my head. I do have a question though, what part of the game do you want? I can do the mansion or the area where you fight the giant chainsaw guy(just because these are easy to remember). The water area popped in my head, but people would run off with the boat then everyone would die in the water. |
Posted by: Rogan May 05, 2008 01:27 pm
I haven't played much of HOTD 2 but I think I will go with mansion and if you can make another one you might know that would be a great help |
