Surprisingly little discussion of Left 4 Dead (either one lol) and Killing Floor (which surprisingly may turn out to be very good now). I played Zombie Panic Source back when it released, a bit, and it seemed kinda garbage (slowdowns from carrying weapons = lol) but had good ambiance (the police station map was fun).
I'm glad to read that many of the developers have gone onto good projects. Left 4 Dead died out for me pretty quick, and Killing Floor I haven't tried yet. KF seems more like Brainbread than anything else on the market really, at least with the style (Left 4 Dead is a bit too crazy-looking for me to consider it the heir to Brainbread, although it has the closest play style of all the pretenders to the BB throne). I might load up BB again some time for a look. Still holding out hope for a new version but I think that for games to be successful now they have to be commercial. On the bright side, if BB:S sold for not a lot of money on Steam and was quality (money tends to help that), I'd get it. |
