What I'd like to start is a thread in which any server admin can post his/her exported database file, and then another server admin can download it and that way all server admins can share databases. This will allow server admins to come to the forum and copy and paste your database into their user_input.txt file and import it into their database. - UPDATE - I'm creating a partner program (PlayerFinder v1.0) that will allow the admin to keep track of and match up players with ID#. Since it is hard to manually match players up with the ID# BB provides in the players.lvl, I will try to automate in my next up coming program. I might make an entire suite, like metamod or amx or admin mod (of course it would be mostly command line interface instead of GUI to keep it simple).

remember, if the file is *not* located in the same directory as the program, you will need to enter the *full* address: i.e. c:\documents\games\brainbread\players.lvl The easiest solution is to just copy-paste the file to the same directory as the program so you could just type players.lvl. Anyways, like I said, I've wrote prompt-specific help sections for each prompt... make use of them ! (type 'help')

It is useful for ranking players and finding player information. It reads your players.lvl file, sorts and ranks the highest players according to how many ranks you want, and displays them in a txt file which you can use on your website, server, motd, etc. There are also a bunch of helper apps, such as a database storage (which helps you keep track of the names of the highest players) and database importers/exporters. I am also currently working on adding a player level changer/editor for version 3.0 so server ops can easily edit players' levels. The Readme explains all of the program's functions in full detail. That would be possible since all I would have to do is make a program that reads the server log. However, I don't think steam's server log contains both the player's name and steam ID. I.E. the server log would look like this: "|2enegade has entered the server Ignoring custom decal from player |2enegade |2enegade was killed by world_spawn etc..." But it never lists the steam IDs unless you manually type "users"

if you type "log on" it shows steam ID's. but DONT WORRY! cuz look what i found: "ID Logger and Player TrackingBy Ludwig van 2002-12-09 Useful for tracking troublemakers and suspected cheaters, also for finding your friends if they are in disguise. Find out if known players are on your server even if they are using different names with amx_whoplayer. Log all AUTHID's to file and attach names to them." i think the AuthID is the steam ID. Not sure :S will try. Working on finding a method to do this: players type /rank a window pops up telling them the current player ranks (that i've entered into a .txt file) pretty much a way of making a motd.txt file thing pop up when players type /rank...

wow, you doubled my player database in a matter of days!! I see some familiar names, but don't worry, PlayerTracker filters out identical matches and prompts before overwriting updated ones. I'll add them to my database, thanks!

I think I stated it somewhere in the read me (or the sample input file) but, for now, names cannot contain spaces. so [wow] David would be [wow]David, or [wow]_David, etc. Thanks for the heads up on the bug, I forgot to update the version number in the StatsCreator program, it should be 1.2.5. Rest assured though, you have the most recent version. p.s. I'm looking into that program lucas suggested and seeing if I can use it in mine aswell. thx for your updated database list.

admin mod is sort of its own entity, it takes care of plug ins that affect gameplay, StatsCreator is targeted and keeping track of players levels/ranks and displaying them. Although, what may end up happening is, if the dev team has extra time on their hands, and now that metamod is offically supporting BB, maybe they could encorperate StatsCreator code into a metamod plugin. (if the devs are interested, I would be happy to supply the source code for StatsCreator)

no, its set by the server operator, save forever, save for X days, X hours etc..

Currently working on "LevelEdit", a program that helps admins change a player's level. For the steam IDs, I still have to locate that program that records the ID|Name in a readable format.

well, thats what the program does, but simplifies it for the user. So instead of having to find the intended player through guesswork or trial and error calculation of their level using their exp points, you can just enter their steam ID and the program will do it for you. However, I could divert my focus towards the steam ID reading, I just need the link to that plugin/program that records the player's name and ID... edit: I found it courtesy of LucasW's post. It appears to be an amx_plugin. I'll see what I can do with it...

It's a very simple program in terms of system usage, so long as you read the readme, it should work fine without error or crashing. Be sure your players file is in the statscreator directory and named "players.lvl".
