well, for me it worked, i had the memory problem, fixed that, and then this happened. it seems that the updates added some new things to the router, which just messes up half life game play. you can tell if you have this if you play for a little bit, sometimes more than 30 secs, some times less, and it bbots you off. it happens/ed to me in all half life games.

I used to run the game and in menu it crashed, then fixed it (don't know how) started a game and then crashed when a "Barney" talked to me at level start, could me 20 steps foward before crash. Now, it says that can't find hl.exe in steam folder (I will fix it) but There's one question that I'm wondering... Is BB just a HL Steam version Mod? or it works the same with No Steam?
