i just got HLMV and i tried to change the AK skin abit , i exported it then put some more lighting on it and stuff ( with macromedea fireworks ) and when i try to import it it says "Could not read BMP format" or something like that...

Make sure the .bmp is an 8-bit indexed color .bmp when you save it.

hlmv dont make models for you. You make models WITH hlmv.

Edgar you can't make models with HLMV you can only change the skins.... but its actually supposed to be for viewing models...seeing as how its called "Half-Life Model Viewer"
