| Okay, if you are old members here, then you should, in theory, already know this kinda stuff. So if you want to take a nap while I talk, feel free. For the new members, welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy your stay. Please follow the rules, and try not to get eaten by the zombies. Really. We don't like having to pay the cleaning bills. Now, onto the main subject of this thread: the search button. It is the second button in from the left in the top-right of the forum display, just under your username and the bit that shows if you have any new private messages. It enables you to search the forums for particular words, threads, posts, and users. I'm focusing mainly on the posts and threads for this one, as several new people tend to make topics that have been made a thousand times before. By using the search button, you are a.) more likely to find the answer to whatever question you are planning to ask faster, and b.) less likely to incur the wrath of us moderators. The second point is probably the one you wish to focus on most, believe me. And that's the end of this one. Thank you for your time. Sorry, just had to do this 'cause I had a feeling that new people probably haven't seen that flash movie where they explain this kinda stuff. Hmmm...considering doing a Keyes Explains each week, seeing that I'm now out of school and therefore do not have that much in the way of commitments right now. Yea or nay? |

| Sometimes the search button does not work, if you try looking for something ye old its not gonna find it, so i understand in some circumstances. But yeah search it anways and ye shall finde what you need! |

| Hehe, glad you guys liked it. Thanks for pinning it, Chace, didn't think of doing it myself. I'll probs whip one up early. And thanks for the idea, Mic, but the Internet is quite a large thing to explain, and may take a lot of time. Any specific areas you want me to cover? If anyone has any ideas for the next Keyes Explains... feel free to tell me what you want explaining  |

| Keyes, you might want to make a topic like this and pin it to every section of this forum. And even then, noobies will still only have a 50% chance of seeing your pinned topics explaining the elusiveness of the search button.  |
