I do not under stand why on certain parts of maps it gets extremely laggy, unplayable even. Some times there is nothing even around the area, just walls and yet it is laggy, not like a lot of stuff around at least not shown any way.

I am not sure if other people get the same thing or not but mine is horrible. The rest of the map is perfectly fine, even in a server that is across the planet, but I run into one section and every thing is a crawl. Why? How can I fix it?

Edited for mistakes.... must have been late last night, you know it is bad when the creator can not even read it. rolleyes.gif

It´s a problem with the rain. Spin will fix it in a patch, after the release of BB. If you turn of weather effects it should work.

I don't think there'll be a patch...

what are your comp specs?

HP
Pentium ® 4CPU 2.40 GHz
2.39 GHz
448MB of RAM
Radeon IGP 345M 64.0MB

In all honesty I think that this lap top (My friends.) is better than my old desk top which I can not fix any more. I can run all Half Life games on it. There is only one map out of the 4 I have played where I do not slow down to an extreme crawl (At certain parts only.) and I know Hostile Intent had that problem on a map because of the rain and a lot of people didn't like it, some found it unplayable and it become the least played map.

If the team knew about it it may be a reason why not a lot of people play PE any more... no matter how beatiful and detail rich a map is, if it gets as bad as it does for me people wont play. And I remember playing PE when it first came out now, but I don't know the reason why I stopped playing but the lag could have been a factor. ohmy.gif

Please please please make sure there is no major slow down in BB, not just for me but the majority of players with average comps... this isn't Half Life 2 yet... biggrin.gif

It's always a big effort for me to bring out a patch, and we have too few stuff to fix for it to be worth releasing one.
I can still post some updated dlls here in the forum if you want.

I am not really sure what needs a patch besides the extreme lag that I am sure over half the players get. (Unless I am just a special case.) Like I said that might have been a reason why people don't play it. It is no fun to try and find the enemy and to get to the exact same spot every time and have extreme lag and crawl thru it and get shot and die because apparently the other guy is fine or he is shooting from out side the "void". Once I am in there it is like super slow motion and I have to jam (I don't need to jam, pressing the button is fine, it just feels like I need to jam.) the key board to go backwards and it takes a couple of seconds to respond. I would say that would need a patch and be top priority.

How ever like most people think PE wont be around much longer any way... infact it is pretty much already dead completely but will be alive thru BB. Might just want to keep the effort on BB as of now so no extreme lag happens to it, but if that extreme lag could be fixed I can garuntee I would be playing PE at least and I will find others as well.

It's a rather seldom thing, I don't think it had an influence on the overall pe gaming experience. It only happens in hacking maps, it only happens on certain pcs and it happens randomly, that minimized the chances quite a bit.

Well the first time I played PE was on my old DELL desk top with Road Runner and in the barracks and now I am playing on a HP lap top on Comcast in my apartment and get the same lag as I recall. Two different comps, two different service providers and two different places... sad.gif
