Whenever I try to open the game after installing the client I get an error which says it cannot find the file called "hl.exe" any ideas on how to fix this?

hey im new here but u need hl 1 not hl source hl2 or anything like that and u need steam if it says cant find hl.exe u have 2 install the new version hl 1.1.2 i think i cant get BB 2 work 2 cuz i have the older verson ( update 1.1.1 ) and i need some help 2 need 2 find a page i can dl the update
