When i try to start the game after install it says ''Searching for hl.exe'' and it cant find it so my game wont start and i was out buying half life 1 today ''Half Life 1 ANTHOLOGY'' anyone can help me???

Hi!
have u installed the mod in \Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life if not thats the reason... if yes u installed steam wrong... u must create your account with cd key and install half-life via steam... steam will download all reguired files for hl... after that u can install your third party mods and download other mods like cs, dod etc. greetings 23-down |

Now go to steam and download it. Then you will have to create an account on steam and then click on hl1.

i have steam installed and if i create a new account wont i lose my Counter Strike : Source mod i bought? so i cant make a new isnt that right? it would just be dumb...

Yes everything is installed right but when i press the Brain Bread button it WONT start and it says it cant execute the hl.exe file code2 cant find the file

Go see where hl1 has installed to. you mite of insatlled it to the wrong area as it should be in the steamapps folder.

So hl1 works through steam? Have you played it at least once?
