There comes a time when we recklessly buy games for the sake of it... and that means spending major bucks just to fulfill your game cravings...
But some games just aren't worth the price, or aren't worth keeping. You either return it, sell it to a friend for a bargain, or keep it and feel guilty since you can't find any other way to get rid of it.

So, do you guys have any games you regret owning/paying full price?

Here's my list:
-Spiderman: Web of Shadows
Bought it at full price for the Wii. Loved it at first, but overtime I started realizing my mistake... the game is indeed quite lengthy, but it's just not worth the money. The cheaper graphics, huge amounts of bugs, the lack of a playable Wolverine!? I'd definitely buy it, but only for 20$ or lower. It's just not worth 50.

-Lost Planet 2
This game was indeed good, and has high replayability, but man. For some reason, it ain't worth the 60 dollars to me. It sure does offer a lot, but it didn't make me stay too long into playing it, and it's not such a popular game. At a lower price, this game can become way more awesome.

-Dynasty Warriors 6: Special
From the start, I didn't realize that DW6 is terrible compared to the older games. I mean, all you get are at least 20 or more characters with unique movesets, and 30 clone-moveset characters. You don't get any other unique weapons, taking away the fun in training into getting them. Training horses has become more of a pain!!!!
It's such a disappointment. And to think I paid 50 dollars for it......

If I had all of the money from these games, I could've bought the following:

-Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
-Enough money to save for a copy of Diablo 3
-A few gundams
-Some food
-Money to hang out with friends
-Emergency cash

Worst game ever: life

The graphics are shit. There is very little action and the plot is sub par. It costs too much to play and you only get one go and no saves. I think the developers were drunk when they designed it. Although the AI director seems to be fairly advanced. Shame it only generates asshole npcs. Worst damned game ever!

Anywho, enough trolling serious list:
- Supreme Commander 2
It's a pain in the ass to play and I am shit at forming tactics in it. It also frequently freezes on me, causing me to lose my campaign progress.

- Fable 2/3
I loved the first fable game, but the sequels have removed every ounce of difficulty from the game in hopes of reaching a larger target audience. I am sorry, but when I play a video game, I want it to be a damned challenge. What the hell is with this unlimited respawn shit. And having no mana bar, just makes it a joke. It went from a good series to "Little Tike's First RPG" and it is sad because the graphics are decent, the gameplay is otherwise enjoyable, and the story is immersive.

Nice biggrin.gif

My list:

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor - a turn-based role-playing game that functioned on the then-new D&D 3rd Edition ruleset with a good storyline and a lot of potential. Pity the graphics, gameplay mechanics, bugs and...just general crapness ruined it.

Fallout 3/New Vegas - before someone burns me at the stake, these are NOT, strictly speaking, games that I'm not satisfied with. I played Fallout 3 into the ground, and am currently playing New vegas more than...well, anything. However, the bugs and constant crashes get on my nerves somewhat. Surely they could've fixed the issues from Fallout 3 before they brought out New Vegas?

There are probably more. I might have to update later.

I loved Fallout3, however for me. Dead Rising II sucked. I really diddn't enjoy the game and I bought it when it came out for PC for around £30 I think. There was a plain and simply boring storyline, and no replay action at all.

I did not want to play any mission over again and did not complete the game 100% as I physically was too bored to continue playing.

The new AVP game, the single-player was great and interesting with DECENT story lines I wouldn't say great story lines. However it's online play was awful and literally no one played it online, i specifically remember IGN saying it could be a big online hit. Well with like 20 dedicated servers in the list it does not look like it. xD

Now that you mentioned it, you are indeed right...
I bought it at full price, pre-order and all.... the fun lasted for a while until I got bored with it like crazy. And so, I lent it to my friend. It's the only way for me to spark interest back in this game. All of the new weapons are nice and all, but ... the gameplay gets old.
I regret buying Dead Rising 2 at full price, since it's should only be worth like, 30 or less bucks.

Bulletstorm, Aion, Darksiders, Aliens vs predator (2010)...

I could keep going, people make shitty, buggy half assed games with absolutley no story, where the fuck did the gaming industry go!?

The gaming industry has went even more mainstream than it has in the PS2/XBox generation..... they cater to the mainstream's expectations, which are at times quite mediocre. So, it's harder to search for great games nowadays....

Now this just popped up in my mind.

Left 4 Dead 2.

I bought it at 45 dollars and it felt like a waste..... 30 or less is more like it. I got bored with the game right away. However, they're kinda making it up with DLC releases and such... still, it isn't enough. Definitely not satisfied with it.

As of the moment, I can only think of good games... so I'll come back to this list.

I regret buying APB, only because it died a month in. I really enjoyed the game =/.

I kinda regret buying the physical collector's edition of Rift. All my friends left me alone in the game =/.

X-Blades. Wasn't "good" enough imo.

I think the majority of games I've bought were at least satisfying for their price. I'm sure I'll think of others, so I'll bring em here when I do =p

i actually was dissappointed in the lack of length in FEAR 3

though it has two different endings so i suppose you have to play it twice to see both, but that requires ( if co-op ) you to have a co-op partner that lets you 'win'
