QUOTE (Radman @ December 18, 2007 06:28 am)
Well heres a few of my suggestions.

Allies

Civilians

These guys are weak, can only pick up pistols and melee weapons.

Police Officers

Stronger then the civilians, can take more hits. They carry a pistol and are capable of picking up shotguns/rifles.

National Guard/SWAT Officers

These are the strongest guys out there who are on our side, they carry automatic rifles and combat shotguns, they can dishout some serious undead pain.

Enemies

Zombies

Undead, killing/eating machines of tender warm flesh... need I say more?

Fred

The ultimate mutant zombie

Special Forces

Now heres were I need to explain myself... I personally think there should be an enemy 'human' element added to the equation. These guys have been sent in to retrieve highly secret documents/silence witnesses or perhaps they have some other 'evil' agenda. The fact is they will silence anyone who gets in their way and unfortuantly thats you...

They definatley shouldnt be on every map... and should only appear in small groups 3-4 but they are heavily armoured, well armed and difficult to kill.

I also like the idea that depending on what map your playing determines what class you are. For example in an urban city map you could have 10 police spaces, 15 civilian spaces and 5 military spaces.

P.S Im back happy.gif

The above = win.

Please make BB:S the fun mod BB used to be and still is.
There are enough zombie mods around with sparse ammo and good guns just for the players with the faster computer, better spawn point or whatever and some of them will get crushed for sure when L4D is going to be released one day.
As I said, classes could ruin a lot of the fun. BB is like a place to chill when playin online games, there's room for everybody and the players enjoy the relaxed gameplay. Maybe one of the reasons, why there's almost no people swearin like kids in their puberty, although a lot of them are. laugh.gif Different npc classes(civillians!) on the other hand could be an addition that could give some variety to the game, like our beloved human runner zombies bring some thrilling moments to BB.

Allies

Civilans: Very very weak, but fairly brave. Can use all melee weapons, small caliber pistols (I.E HK USP), and small caliber hunting rifles (I.E .22 Rifle)

Police: Stronger then civilans, even braver, won't run unless absouletly neccasry. Can use all melee weapons, pistols, rifles, pump shotguns, and some small SMGs (I.E MP5)

SWAT: SWAT is bassicly the same as police, but are harder for zombies to bring down, have better weapons and armor. Can use all melee weapons, pistols, pump shotguns, SMGs, and a M16.

Marines: Marines are by far the best non mechinaicl allies. Never flee, will fall back, but never flee. Pretty hard for zombies to bring down, best armor. Can use all melee weapons, all pistols, all pump shotguns, all semi auto shotguns, all SMGs, all rifles, all assualt rifles, all explosives. Can have mounted mini guns or a two man flamethrower team.

Hummer: The only military vehicle zombies can efectivley destroy. Carries six men: three people riding in back, one gunner with a .50 cal, one driver, one passanger. The zombies would destroy this by climbing aboard and eating every on board

APC: Zombies cannot effectivley destroy this unless they get ultra lucky and happen to be right there when the troops are let out. Can carry 10 men: 8 passangers, 1 gunner (the swiviling cannon on top), 1 driver.

Tank: Really self explanitory. Can't be destroyed by zombies. If you see one, just run like hell.

Blackhawk: Again, self explainitory. Can carry 10 men: 6 passangers, 2 gunners, 1 pilot, 1 co pilot.

Enimes

Zombie: Your basic zombie, very common.

Runner zombie: Weaker then a normal zombie, but faster.

Dog: faster and stronger then a runner, but weaker then a zombie.

Cat: Weaker then a dog zombie, weaker then a runner, but faster then both. Doesn't do much damage, but is fast, small, and hard to hit.

My own ideas for some enemies:

Crazed Survivor:

An armed civilian who was mentally unprepared for the scenes of unspeakable terror he was to face. He has watched all his companions either get eaten alive, or transform into a horrific creature before his very eyes. Now he's all alone, and afraid beyond imagining.

He will fire on anything that moves, be it zombie, player, or friendly NPC. All too often, the only effective course of action is to put him out of his misery. He will not pursue enemies under any circumstances. If overwhelmed, his first instinct will be to flee. If cornered, he will commit suicide.

He uses any of the weapons regular civilians use. Additionally, his hiding place often contains hoarded supplies and ammunition.

Undead Marine:

As the title suggests, a Marine who was unfortunately infected and has joined the ranks of the walking dead. While at first glance little different from any other zombie, there are special considerations to be made:

- He is wearing body armor, as well as a Kevlar helmet. These will dramatically reduce the damage caused by pistol-caliber ammunition, as well as shotgun blasts and other low-velocity projectiles.

- He is physically more fit than most civilians, and consequently moves slightly faster.

- Soldiers practice with their weapons until the motions become ingrained in the "muscle memory". Therefore, undead Marines are often found wielding the weapon they were holding when they died.
They are surprisingly proficient with melee weapons like knives or rifle bayonets, however, they are unable to aim firearms effectively. Ergo, their shots basically always miss their intended mark.

Decayed Zombie

Zombies in advanced stages of decay are markedly different from those recently deceased:

- On the one hand, they are slower and their attacks deal less damage, as their muscles and tendons are rapidly deteriorating.

- On the other hand, they are in such an advanced state of decay that bullets will do next to no damage to them, as a round will pass right through without delivering much force.

The only reliable way to put them down is with a solid headshot.

Crawling Zombie

Just because you blew off its legs doesn't mean a Zombie is no longer dangerous. In fact, they will continue to crawl towards their potential meals until they are put down for good by, quote, removing the head or destroying the brain.

As well as being low to the ground and thus a little less conspicuous than other zombies, they have the nasty habit of grabbing at players' feet and ankles, slowing them down and causing them to stumble. This is to say nothing of their retained ability to claw and bite.

-------------------------------------------

EDIT: Just saw the idea on Classes, I think an enhanced skill point system would work better than a class system, as I can't see how different survivors would be wildly dissimilar. Here's my (ambitious) idea for a new point system:

Marksmanship: Increases your accuracy and damage with firearms.

Expertise: Decreases the time needed to reload and draw all weapons. Also increases melee attack damage. Finally, reduces the time required to complete certain objectives.

Vitality: Increases maximum health, as well as health regeneration rate. Reduces damage taken from environmental hazards such as drowning or damaging falls.

Agility: Reduces damage taken from melee attacks. Each level grants an increased chance for an incoming melee attack to miss completely.

Speed: Increases run speed and melee attack speed.

Morale: Nearby friendly NPC's will be less likely to flee. Provides slight increases in all of the above attributes for both you and nearby allies.

Me like, me like.
Although everyone is spouting the same idea that originated here, I do like the concept of different enemies with their own stories. biggrin.gif

Be careful with weapons, like an rpg-7 to fight the black-ops helis, but not stingers so u can just shoot and not aim. Maby an awp (but not like the shoot-through-walls css version), but an m82 .50 cal rifle would blow through 10 zombies, maiming them, then blowing your allies head off by accident.

The marines could definitely have a medic though, that way if theres no more random med-kits, then he could heal you. Variety is nice, like having different types of guns. for example u could have a basic winchester rifle, then upgrade to a dragunov svd, then an awp (or m82 or whatever else you want) and upgrade your revolver to the desert eagle.
