Sometimes on a map i dont remember wht map it is fred is INVISIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hes like a superpowered corn farmer that ate to much corn that a zombie put its venom in and made him mutated to be invisible!

To tell the truth, I have had this problem once or twice also. but usually, he becomes visible after a few moments. but it is pretty weird...

I Have seen this to. But what it really is that you are shooting fred but it does not look like you are shooting him at all.Is that what you are seeing.I mean no blood and other stuff that looks like you are shooting him.

Fred is not invisible, a glitch with Fred's code causes his physical body to spawn undneath his spawn point for purposes of you seeing and shooting him, but above ground for purposes of moving and him attacking you.
I believe the dev team is well aware of this as it was a problem in previous versions as well if I am recalling correctly. -------------------- BB Maps I've made...

How does that not make sense? It is exactly what happens. His hitboxes are underneath the level but he can move and attack as though he was above ground. I have seen more than enough evidence to substaniate this answer.

If this is the same thing that happened during the betatests then it's caused by too many entities displayed at the same time. The Half-Life engine stops drawing them after a certain amount but the hitbox calculation still works.

Oh, okay, that's why was still able to shoot him....I think..
While he was invisible, I was still shooting my minigun, and splatters of blood still appeared. So I think what was said makes sense... -------------------- |

I think he meant it the other way round. Spawns above ground for sight purposes, and below ground for registering purposes, no? -------------------- |

Ya that makes sence becuase i encountered this in the cemetary Map
-------------------- There are a few reasons I don't visit the forums as often as I used to, they are as follows: 1) I really don't have a lot of time. 2) My hardrive is failing 3) The forums honestly frustrate me to a point I cannot stand it, I've tried to help, I've tried to set people straight, but apparently, the health of these forums only matters to a few people. Thats just sad, most of us have grown along with these forums and along BB and frankly its disgusting to see the way you guys act sometimes... until you pull your acts together, don't expect to see me around much. WHERE IS MY DELETE POST FUNCTION!? |
