Also, I hate to nit pick but your pistol is a 1911 in ZP, which almost always chambers the .45 round, and the 7 round magazine seems to support that idea...

Zombie Panic was just released in a very early beta guys. You can hardly compare it to BB which has been worked on longer and even got some things used from PE that were already done and made.

ZP will probably get better in all those areas that it sucks in now in the future.

As I wrote in the review I think theres a main difference between both mods.

The main difference is that Zombie Panic has a more competition outfit like Vampire Slayer

You can play Zombie Panic a serious way mastering your skills with the limited weapons available. While in Brain Bread you have 18 (?) weapons for you to play with but you wont master them all (maybe you specialize on some of them). That difference may attract also different players.

But I agree that Zombie Panic have to improve their overall quality to gain success.

Yea starting out as a zombie sucks when the whole human team hides in the vents or on the telephone line or the large open area. It takes like 10 mintues for me just to get a zombie buddy with me. Even after that it takes about 5 zombies to make a difference. And the zombies are slow too so the humans just keep on running in the beggining.

But I do like to heara guy scream as he rounds the corner and sees me swinging at him. One time a fellow zombie was chasing a human out runnign him and I went the other way and flanked him and killed him. The laughter ensued.

How ever the slowness of the beginning and the weapon spawn glitch I saw and turns me off after a few mintues. But there si fun to be had with it. BB looks to be 10x better though.

In Zombie Panic you loose if you camp. You have to be mobile to win an stay alive to get the 2nd ammo spawn.

There's an easy way to stay alive even if you wander alone. Just take up no weapon and only ammo for your standard pistol. You will find many ammo as everybody are running for the big weapons and you stay fast enough to outrun zombies easily.

And starting as a zombie is pretty funny as you can kill them easy while they're on the weapon run. Once killed 3 guy after another while they tried to gte the shotgun wink.gif.

if your a zombie in ZP ya usually spawn near a weapon like the shotgun and theyll always come from 1 direction to get the shotgun. just stay nexto the wall from that entrance where they cant see ya and whack the first guy that gets there. then itll be pretty easy while the rest is stil lrunning for ammo. then if their camping just kill any1 left behind and go to the campers, take a few shots, run back and regen. then assemble all zombies and do a rush on them. first time theyll lose about2 people and waste alot of ammo so some will go on a ammo run and kill them.

havent lost a round yet. just use tactics like outflanking the survivors.

I like hte people that go for the empty shotgun, while I just chase them down.

I was kind of hoping the mod would be something like Dawn of the Dead (Remake), as in the ombies are fast mofos, and able to take gunshots without slowing down. It just sucks that the zombie animations use the regular half-life player animations, which looks rediculous. Maybe if the zombies were faster than the humans (Ever played AvP2, with marines fight against the aliens...funs stuff wink.gif ) then it would add "fear" to it.

Aye, I have. Plus had the stalking Preds as well with their cloaks and powerful, but power using weapons. And once a Queen spawned that was it, all humans and Preds die. biggrin.gif

The AVP games were great, but making the zombies faster would just be overkill, they already win nearly every time.

Hi, I've been playtesting ZP since the first internal beta, it has grown a lot in the short time it has been in development. Much of the content is community created, including the maps.

Twilight, the project lead wanted to get ZP out to the public as soon as possible. Give ZP some time and you'll see a large improvement over the current beta release.

There are plans to add new gameplay modes that have been in the works for a while now, including objective based maps. zp_objectivetest, one of the maps that we tested involved getting a gas can and carrying it back to survivor spawn. It was a really simple map, as much of the zp maps are because people just wanted to try out gameplay ideas and such.

The current release is still beta, don't forget that.

That said, I look forward to gawking at the level design in BB. smile.gif GL to you.

Well the gas can objective could make it more interesting and get the humans out of the vents or sealed off rooms. Nothing more fun than watching 10-15 guys hop around flashing the flash light and asking why the zombie is not attacking. What do you want from one guy where he has to run the gaunlet 20 times before he can kill some one. I get so bored either I venture out in hopes of getting killed after a short chase or I simply exist the game.

I relize it's just a beta, but I think it should have been...more "developed" before the release. sad.gif The weapons are a bit rediculous with the amount of damage given.

-Colt .45 is weak and is almost useless with only one clip
-Shotgun is the ultimate weapon, but I think that it should be changed: Primary Attack should fire the shotgun (like narmal), and there should be a small pause, and you HAVE to click Secondary Attack to pump the shotgun; this way, it woun't feel like a damn automatic shotty and takes a little longer to fire.
-Assault Rifle should have been maybe an MP5 or something of that nature. As weak as it is, MP5A4 suits it better.
-Dynamite is nice, nothing wrong with it
-Satchel is...well, a little bit of an overkill. It's fun, but where in the world would you find a satchel charge that blows things away in the 100 meter radius (Seems to be quite large in any case)
-Magnum is a weapon that I have seen maybe...twice? Not often, that's for sure. I think there needs to be more kind of revolvers in the mod, somce being weak, some being powerful.
-Crowbar is fine I guess.

Now to the other things:
-Animations, animations, and animations! I have said this over fifty times, but the zombies need different animations! There attack animations are laughable, as is there running and walking! Hell, they're the same as the regular Half-Life animations, which is a bit of a bummer. Like, seeing a zombie running at you, arms swaying from it's sides, moaning or screaming (Watch the Remake of Dawn of the Dead, and you'll get what I mean).
-Need a Hunting Rifle in the mod! It's something that you could easily find in a city or town. Hell, even a simple .22 would be fine with a shot in the head; though I would prefer something a little more powerful.
-Need more melee weapons, and the ability to throw them. An AXE is a perfect weapon! That thing could cause quite a bit of damage (More than the crowbar) but takes maybe a little longer to attack.
-Obviously more player models, since that's been mentioned by everyone rolleyes.gif
-Now, some people may not like this, but how about taunts and such, though there being 5+ different sounds, but chosen randomly, by pressing the button (Something like the Panic! button, except it's not a scream from Command and Conquer)

I would go on, but I just relized that most people skip over very long posts, so I'll stop... tongue.gif
