The beginning of the end

"What?! Thats crazy!" Phil said, "You have survived this far, i know you can survive that, you are the best soldier here" Rick said. "What do you want from Phobos anyway? Whoever sent that transmission might be dead allready!" Phil said, Rick started to look impatient, "Perhaps, but that person must know something that we dont!" Rick said.

"I refuse to go there again!" Phil said, "There is no other choice for you, you follow my orders or you can leave" Rick said, "Your ridicilous" Phil said.

"Well?" Rick said impatient, "Fine" Phil said. Rick took Phil to a small escape shuttle that had been programmed to self pilot itself to Phobos base, Phil got a full body armor, some grenades and a P90.

The shuttle launched to space, back to Phobos which Phil had just escaped. After a few hours the shuttle crashed inside the Phobos base, Phil putted his gas mask on and stepped out of the shuttle. The base was even more depressing than when he first was there. "Radio check, landing succesful, over.", Phil said in his radio. *Copy that, put your camera and scanner on, Phil.* Rick said trough the radio. Phil putted his scanner on, and the small camera that he had attached at the shoulder plates of his armor.

"No life signs, over" Phil said, *Keep going* Rick said.

Phil started walking forward, suddenly he heard some noises coming from behind. Phil turned around to look but saw nothing. Phil threw a flare to the dark, then he saw a hallway full of zombies.

All of the zombies turned around, noticed Phil, and started walking towards him. Phil threw a grenade to the hallway, it exploded, blowing up all of the zombies. Blood splattered in the hallway. (What were they doing in that hallway?) Phil wondered, he walked among the hallway and opened a door, it seemed to be a big room but it was completely dark.

Phil threw a flare, it was a storage room, there was nothig in there besides boxes.

*Phil! Behind you!* The radio screamed, Phil had forgotten to look at his scanner, Phil quickly turned around.

The last thing he saw was a Imp leaping towards him.

Sorry but i doubt i can write much in the next few days becouse i have to read for exams, but ill try get some time for writing.

The imp leaped to Phil, crushing him to the floor. The imp started to form a fireball, but suddenly something hitted its head, blood spilled out and it collapsed, dead. Phil took his broken helmet off. Phil stood up, "Thanks for saving my life, where are you? Im here to take you to safety." Phil yelled.

A woman walked from the darkness, she seemed to be very young, 17 or so. She had short blond hair, small eyes and nose, and a wery empty look. Phil seemed rather suprised, but tried his best to hide it. "Nice shot there.. Who are you?" Phil said, "I am Hannah.. " the girl said. "Well, Hannah, its time for you to get to home" Phil said, Hannah seemed offended, "Home? You must be kidding" she said. "Listen, you cant stay here, there are some humans still alive at earth, and they sent me to get you back to earth." Phil said, "Right, anythings better than this place" Hannah said.

Phil took his radio, "Objective completed, requesting pick up, over" Phil said, *Roger that, we're sending a small spce ship there, hang on* someone responded trough the radio. Phil sitted down, "So.. How did you, you know, survive here?" he said. Hannah sitted down too, "I hided" she said. "Right.. Can you show me that gun you killed the imp whit?" Phil said, Hannah handed the gun carefuly to Phil.

It was somekind of a silenced sniper rifle whit a laser pointer. "You've got good aim" Phil said and handed the gun back to Hannah. "Your very brave, you know that" Phil said, Hannah nodded. Phil desided not to bother her whit any questions, as she seemed to be wery depressed.

"Not many people would have survived here" Phil said, "I know. Everyone else is dead" Hannah said. "I know how you feel, trust me" Phil said. Hannah looked at Phil, "How?" she said, "How could i say this, well, i was sent here earlier to investigate, my whole team died and i was let alone, finaly i found one of my team alive, the one that i most cared of, the one that i loved. Then, she was took from me, i wached how she died, i could'nt have done anything. I failed her." Phil said.

Hannah looked away, "I.. See.. I'm sorry" she said. "It's allright. You must have gone trough a lot of hard times, too" Phil said.

PART 2

The silence was broken by some gunshots and screams in the distance, "The space ship! Hurry, we must help them!" Phil yelled and started running, Hannah came behind him. They ran towards the noises, after a few minutes they saw three marines being pinned down by four imps, Hannah rised her sniper rifle, and in a blink of an eye one of the imps was down. The three other imps turned around, and attacked Phil. Phil shot one of them whit his P90 before it even got close to him, the other two was shot down by the marines.

"Thank god, you saved our lifes" one of the marines said, "Anyway, get to the ship and lets get out of this forsaken place" the marine said, Hannah and Phil went in the ship, and the marines followed them. It was a small space fighter, which just and just had room for them all. There was four seats, Phil refused the offer to sit and letted Hannah get his seat instead. After a hour they arrived at the hangar of the big space ship positioned at earth.

The three marines leaded Phil and Hannah to Rick.

"Wery well done, Phil, you are worth of your fame. Now, who are you, girl?" Rick said, "Hannah" she answered, "So were you the one that sent that transmission?" Rick asked, "No. It was my.. Father" Hannah said, "Where is your father then?" Rick aked, Phil made a angry look on Rick, "He's dead" Hannah said. "I see. Now, can you tell me what happened out there, perhaps you know something we dont? No?" Rick asked while walking around Hannah.

"Hey, thats enough questions, she must be really tired" Phil said. "Allrigh.. Soldier, take her to somewhere where she can rest" Rick said. The marine nodded, the marine and Hannah leaved the room. "What do you think?" Rick asked, "What do i think? I think she's just a god damn brave, and lucky, kid. I dont really think shes hiding anything or something like that" Phil said.

"We will see about that" Rick said.

"You're paranoid" Phil said. "Bah! Who is'nt paranoid anymore? Trust no one, thats what it is these days" Rick said. "You can leave now" Rick commanded, Phil left the room and started walking towards his room. (Why havent they attacked us yet? We are like a bait here, strange) Phil thought. Then, instead of going to his room Phil went out of the space ship instead. No signs of imps or barons. The sun shined and brought light to the otherwise dark ruins, Phil bathed at the sunlight. Phil started walking around, he imagined how the city was like when it still was in one piece. Gigantic sky-scapers that holded most of the citys population, people running around and doing their daily routines, planes going about, and even the strict police.

Phil saw some movement in the distance, "Thats them.." Phil said, and ran back to the ship. Phil hurried to the control center of the ship, and found Rick taslking to some scientists. "They'r coming! Prepare you'r men, Rick" Phil yelled.

Rick turned to look at Phil, "We know that" he said, "Well? What are you waiting for?" Phil asked, "They are not heading towards us" Rick said and pointed at a radar, "There is a lot of movement in there indeed, but they are not coming towards us." Rick said, strangely worried.

"Where could they be going, then?" Phil asked, "I wish i'd know" Rick answered.

Suddenly the whole ship shaked, "What was that?!" Rick yelled, "I don't know!" Phil yelled. The ship shaked again, again, and again, like something huge would be walking near the space ship. Phil nodded to Rick, and they both ran outside.

They saw a huge, minotaur likish creature, it had a huge cannon implantet at its right hand, its skin had cyperkinetic implants here and there. It was as tall as a small sky-scaper. Rick tried to say something, but all he said was "T..T...A..Th.."

"Thats it!" Phil yelled, "Thats what leads the imps and barons!" Phil said, Phil looked at Rick who could barely stand in such a sight. Phil shaked Rick, "Rick! Rick! This is our chanche, we have to kill it!" Phil yelled, "Ho..How..?" Rick asked, "Ill think of some way" Phil said.

Suddenly Hannah stepped out of the space ship, "I know how to kill it" she said.

"H..How do you know that?" Rick asked, "I.. I saw... Pictures of that creature at Phobos" Hannah said, "What?!" Rick yelled, Phil walked closer to Hannah, "So how do you kill it?" he asked, "See that implant on its back, thats the thing that gives ammo to its cannon, by blowing it up the whole thing will explode, and if it doesnt, atleast it cant shoot" Hannah explained.

"What were those pictures?" Rick asked, "We dont have time for that now" Phil said, "Now.. No need to risk any of your men's lifes, ill do it" Phil said, "Your crazy" Rick said, Phil smiled, "Give me the biggest handheld gun you got" Phil said. Rick rushed back inside the ship, and soon came back whit a, big gun.

"This, this is the BFG, a prototype weapon created on mars, i havent got any idea what it means, but i call it the Big Fucking Gun" Rick said, Phil took the gun and started running towards the creature. "Good luck, Phil!" Hannah yelled.

Phil sneaked trough numerous ruins, and then he saw the beast in all its glory. Thousands of imps were chanting in front of the creature. Phil aimed the gun to the back of the creature, then he pulled the trigger. No, Phil didint fire it, something made him not to pull the trigger. (What is this..? Why cant i shoot you?)

"What is he doing?" Rick asked, "I dont know" Hannah said.

Phil couldnt do it, the gun dropped from his hands. As it fell to the ground, the creature turned around and looked at Phil, all of the imps stopped chanting. Phil started shaking as the thing looked at him.

"Phil.. What are you doing.." Rick said, "We have to save him!" Hannah yelled, "How? Should i just send my men to die?!" Rick yelled back at her.

"What are you?" Phil whispered, *I am the past, i am the present, i am the future* said a voice inside Phil's mind.
