BB has been stated to be a "funmod". Now I don't know about you, but whenever I've seen something to that regard it is not considered as a "realistic mod".
As for immersion, without knockback, you can get a very good idea they are in the same game between them advancing on you, you taking off limbs, and if you are slow, them hitting you. Want to hit a zombie away to get some space? Use the axe... -------------------- BB Maps I've made...

hmm then I wonder what you would classify shot-specific damage?
or how about body part amputation? Like I said, realism or the lack of it has *nothing* to do with BB. There are things in BB that mirror IRL perfectly, and things that don't. Ultimately, its what just seems to add to the immersiveness. And IMO this would add perfectly to it. -------------------- |

Funny, in all my player zombie killing, I have yet to see a headshot kill on them... nice locational damage there...
This has now degraded into "I'm right, your wrong" due to the fact that it is your opinion against mine, so I see no further point in continuing this thread. The only thing that tips the scale is TSS is currently saying no and chances are the devs will not change their mind on this matter. -------------------- BB Maps I've made...

so you are contesting then, that shots in the head register the same as shots in the chest?
Good luck on that one m8. Other than my incredibly vivid vision of how the game would be if it were included, really there is no way to test this fully unless it is included in a beta. Which is what I suggest. Put it in a beta, test it out, and then you can know for certain whether or not it "feels" right. -------------------- |

Then collect the data and prove me wrong. And if I'm wrong, that means the devs need to add headshot sprites for kills against players.

Wow, I don't really know what to say to that... If you don't realize that headshots do MUCH more damage than body shots... well... there's really nothing else I can help you with.
p.s. shot-specific damage only occurs on NPC zombies, not players. The devs probably didnt include it because PvP isn't really part of the game in BB. -------------------- |

I know shot specific damage only occurs on NPC, I am talking about the sprite that comes up when you kill anything. When killing NPCs, there is a extra headshot sprite that shows if you took them out with a headshot (this includes killing marines) yet one NEVER pops up when you kill a player... leading to irrational conlcusions as I am trying to demonstrate.

Shot specific damage ONLY applies to NPCs!
why? its because PvP isn't a big focus in BB. That really shouldn't cloud your judgement on how shot specific damage affects NPCs, the difference in damage is pretty obvious. -------------------- |

So in otherword, you are saying that a headshot on a PLAYER does no more than a bodyshot? That was what I was saying at first....

yea, PvP it doesn't appear as if there's shot specific damage, but like I said, its feesable since PvP doesn't play a big role in BB. -------------------- |

At least I can put that issue to rest finally. Though even if PvP isn't a focus, there still should be locational damage... (I was wondering why headshots on players as a zombie didn't kill them...)

This was probably made to prevent frustration for zombie players, since they don't have a ranged attack and it makes aimbots less effective.
IMHO locational damage only tends to frustrate people, especially with inaccurate auto-fire weapons. If you're a better player, you'll hit more often and thereby succeed, but with locational damage there's always a big chance that one will simply win by randomly hitting your head. |
