First off, I must say that I love the idea of this game and it is great so far and hopefully gets even better in the future, great job guys!

One thing that has been bugging me though is the power of the minigun. I don't know if I don't know how to use it or what but it seems that it takes twice as long to kill a zombie with the minigun than it does with a handgun. The minigun should just blaze through them and rip them apart! just like in that part in Terminator 2, man I love that part! Lemme know what ya think, just my $0.02.

aim for the head, and it will. it takes 3-4 bullits or something, but the thing fires soo damnb fast not to mention has a ammo reserve like you wont belive so it doesnt even matter.

shooting at the torso wont do much good. but go get the gattling, jump ontop of a car, then let it rip at fred's head. on your own server, you'd kill him with about 2/3rds - 3/4ths of your ammo. you cant even do that with a m16 with a refil or 2.

Short, controled bursts to the head. just like any other weapon. Minigun pales in comparison to the flamethrower for a mob of zombies though...

tens if you account for the approx 10% accuracy it has on full auto. If the bullet does not hit the head, then it really didn't do any real damage.

As for ammo, that all depends on the mapper, some of us are growing fond of low ammo loadouts wink.gif

theres no way to set the pickup ammo for the gattling, and its all you'll get for that gun. not for a mapper anyway.

Unless you overrode the ammo setting availible in the bb_equipment entity, the mapper can set the default ammo in the gun to what they want.

IMO the gun is the most accurate on full auto. And given the fast recoil recovery and high RoF coupled with the insane amount of ammo, it's easily the most potentially devastating gun available.
The flamethrower, on the other hand, doesn't seem to cut it at high difficulty, especially since it won't stop the zombies from advancing and you'll have to ignite them several times.

Any zombie on fire deals damage in a radius to other zombies, couple that with a high skill and a mob of zombies will go down to a flamethrower faster than a minigun. Just takes a couple seconds before the fire starts dropping them. Though in maps where zombies are spread out, the minigun is more effective than the flamethower.

Situation determines effectiveness wink.gif

Thanks for the information, didn't know that. But still on higher difficulties the flamethrower doesn't kill with one ignition even when used on a dozen zombies. I'll try to make some "tests" on some "willing suspects" later this day.

Don't you mean "subjects" wink.gif

And I pulled that information from the PE flamethrower... You can learn a lot about BB weapons from PE biggrin.gif
