wow, game rocks but isnt playable with hmm 4 - 10 fps. now i can play any other hl mod game perfectly. My vid card died a few weeks ago so im running on my 64mb chip so i dont see why i cant play. I turn everything on low, windowed mode everything. any tips would be awesome.

specs

1.7ghz
512ram
integrated chip, used to have a radeon 9200

I honestly see no reason why your computer would be lagging on BB .. from what you give me, my best bet would be your integrated vid specs.

update: I turned the gfx levels higher on the game nd that seems to work, but i centered it down to me lagging whenever i look at zombies =/ or a lot of them and wide areas

you can also try:
gl_flipmatrix 1, but if it bugs out your screen put it back to 0.

thanks for the tips but doesnt seem to help. Im beginning to think its something with large areas and zombies + my pc or something like that, because i can fight in smaller areas with who cares how many zombies just if i get a lot of zombies and a lot of background it lags, and no matter what i do (tweeks etc) nothing helps, it may be something in the game + my pc = bad combo or something. Im running rogers cable as well so im not lagging as a 56ker.

I think its the Integrated Video Card...

I have a comp at home with a 256 ram and 2.6GHZ pentium 4 processor and a shitty 32MB S3 Prosavage video card....and im at my dads now and he has 512 ram and 2.7GHZ Celeron processor and a integrated 64 bit Intel Extreme gfx card....and I have worse lag and visual problems on my dads than on my home comp...

Try using fps_max 101 instead of 72.

Turn off vertical sync..

well I dont have time to write everything down now.


Ill send a complete fps "guide" as soon as i have gotten home from work. But BB is virtually like counterstrike when it comes to fps settings.

Except for a few things

a ) If you lag on CS, your computer must suck. Lots

b ) BB is alot more CPU / GPU intensive than CS

c ) You can't judge the performance of a vid card by looking at its RAM count. Well, usually it gives it away, but in this case, even a 32 mb Prosavage > 64 integrated.

everything looks good here, the only more things I would suggest is changing the following:

cl_updaterate 35-75
cl_cmdrate 35
cl_allowdownload_ingame 0
cl_allowupload 0
cl_allowdownload 0

those might help your net lag, but not comp lag unfortunately

I got a 40 fps increase,if i switch to D3D and go to lowest RES,and lowest color bit,it works well,on my old card at least,I had a GeForce 2,it helped alot,and didnt sacrifice eyecandy...so hope this helps

my guess, why it runs like shiat on integrated chips, is because the software wasnt coded for them.

i mean, the games are coded for geforce and ati, even voodoo (this is a old game) but not for intergrated chipsets. i'd think.

besides that, my game drops down to 10 fps on occasion, and i have a ti4600 with 128 mb. its hl, the engine limit has been reached. mainly the thing was never designed to run on anything as fast as modern day's hardware, so itll just take a portion of the cards capability's and works with that.
