I think club can be too strong at times how about a knife instead? Also how about if you get alot of skill points u could throw it like throwing knife.

1) There is no club, we have an axe.
2) Why make the already weak axe weaker?
3) Why would you want a throwing dagger, they do little damage compared to an axe and you throw away your only melee weapon...

Make the axe a special weapon? Which is a survivor more likely to have, a throwing knife or a garden axe? Besides, we have the ever so present weapon limit. Plus there is the chainsaw that will most likely be implemented, and we really don't need 2 special melee weapons...

what im saying is make the knife be a standard to everybody and make axe a weapon you have to pick up and maybe make it respawn in long time.

Complicated melee weapons isnt really the focus I don't think, although it sounds like fun, It would end up only being just a gimmick, there would be no real way to balance it with any sort of realism and make it useful at the same time.

Although, your suggestion with getting more skill and getting a better attack with a melee weapon sounds VERY interesting, Such as, if you get a certain amount of skill you can do a wide swipe with the axe, cutting off heads and pushing back a good amount of zombies.
Would be very interesting for mapmakers more interested in making maps that involved less blowing up a zillion zombies with a stoner and a handcannon, and they wanted you to have to get through a few puzzles and zombies armed with ONLY the handaxe.

Other interesting uses of this idea:

+Skill adds ability to use a shotgun bash, where you know zombies back with a melee attack, setting you up for another shot (think: Halo/Halo2)

+Skill adds ability to do fast reload sacrificing 25-50% extra ammo (think: reloading in a frenzy and dropping shells on the ground. useful for things like handcannon, winchester, and that damned .44 )

I've said before in another thread that an area effect attack with the axe is out of the question.

Melee attacks with ranged weapons is a different thread.

Fast reload would then overpower weapons with low amounts of ammo chambered. Sawed off losing only 1 round at the most per reload while the M16 loses 7 to 15 rounds out of a box magazine, which then does not make any sense whatsoever.

Also, fumbling ammo would then make the reload take longer...

i think they should remove the stupid dualies.... and add more rifles and remove the sig or make it more powerful or something jesus its like a .22 --- i would love to see a throwing knife or an alternate option for a melee weapon that you can chuck.... granted u should be able to retrieve it hehe i want to see a Winch. Model 70 rifle ....

Then on the downloads page, it said the current version was 2.6b.
