The reloading should be changed in this game, if there is still a round in the chamber and you extract the magazine - the slide does NOT lock back and the bullet stays in the chamber. Reloading before you go totally empty should allow you to carry an extra round in the gun. The slide only locks back when the gun goes empty or is done manually. Examples of this can be found in 'Global Operations' and 'Rainbow Six'. This process excludes double barrel shotguns and revolvers. That is my only gripe for this awesome game.

True, but having it more realistic would allow for faster reloads and an extra bullet being available.

If you want it realistic they should also add jamming and stuff and if you go in water it will have a greater chance of jamming and stuff....and you could set custom stuff like how many bullets you put in your mag...like in vietnam war most put 18-19 rounds in the 20 round mags so they wouldnt jam.

Why? If I am mindlessly blowing off the heads of zombies whilst bunny hopping down a city street, I don't want to be concerned with how many rounds I have in the chamber and worry about wasting them when I reload whenever I get the chance.

If you want realistic reloading, play Firearms, you don't lose a magazine, you keep the partial that counts against your total number of magazines carriable... making reloading as complicated as you could ever want... considering you can also merge partial magazines.

IMHO, Firearms is realistic to the point of not being fun.

There's limits too how much stuff you add to a game, otherwise they would never be able to finish it. Most people don't really know guns and wouldn't even notice the difference. Firearms is not fun because they added too many negatives of realism and there are still unrealistic things in the game, like the shotgun spread being the size of a swimming pool at 10 feet. If you really want to play a realistic game, then you should play America's Army.

Most people play games for fun though.
I kind of like where this is going.

It sounds like something to add to BB if it ever goes source.

I just find it so random that you should pick a small reload inconsistency when there are literally HUNDREDS of reality incosistencies in BB. So many models feel, look, and sound not completely true to their real life counter-parts. But as immoral said it best:

Absolute realism in this mod is not a necessity, and rarely desired.

It seems to be a growing theme in this forum though, which is troublesome at times. wink.gif

I wouldnt mind it allowing you to keep one bullet in the chamber if you reloaded before the you fire all your rounds but it would be insanely hard to re animate everything to have the slide lock back when you do so.

yea, its like what I suggested to Spin a while ago about the revolver animation. Its a generic problem that with any visible revolver type reload animations you will encounter problems when you go to reload with less bullets than your chamber capacity (I.E. you have 4 bullets left, when u reload, it still shows you loading all 6 bullets, thus an extra 2 imaginary bullets are created). Then Spin informed me that the only way to get around this was to make six different reload animations, and then I figured, yea I'd rather stick with the hardly noticeable reality contradiction.
