(This is the first one I've done, so don't blame me if it's lame, lol.)
Part one The street was dark. The moon hid behind thick, grey clouds. The streetlight flickered on and off outside the pub. Inside, a stocky man of about twenty sat back, drinking down his pint. There had been something in the air outside as he went home, but he couldn't put his finger on what... "Alex!" "Huh?" He looked up. "Your round," one of his friends, Fat Johnson, said. His real name was Matt, but people called him fat because he was, well, amazingly fat. Alex shrugged, and took out his wallet. He stood up to go to the bar, when there was the slap of bare hands on the thick wooden doors. "We're closed!" Kurt, the bartender, called out. There was a moan from outside, and the slapping got louder - or there was more of it. "Oi!" Kurt shouted. "Bugger off!" The door suddenly opened, and something that looked like a man but well past his sell-by-date stood in the doorway. It moaned, and seemed to be sniffing the air. He staggered over to Johnson, who started edging away. "Oi, get out!" Kurt told the man. He grabbed the man's arm, and tried to pull him outside. He would have been successful if the arm hadn't come off. "Jesus..." he said. Johnson picked up a bottle, and smashed it on the edge of a table. "Back off, pal," he said. "I'm warning you!" The man kept on shambling towards Johnson, his remaining arm outstretched... Two blasts later, the zombie was flat on the floor, moaning to itself. "What the hell?" Kurt said, as the three stared at the huge gaping hole in the man's chest. "Y'know," Johnson said, "I reckon this guy's dead." "Congratulations, dumbarse," Alex said, slapping him across the back of the head. "Now, try hazarding a guess as to why he's still moving." "Dead or not, he's not staying in here," Kurt said, reloading his sawn-off shotgun and taking the dead man by the leg. He dragged him over to the door, and tossed him outside. "And stay- Oh, shit," Kurt said, staring outside. Alex walked over, and stared out at a group of people shambling over to the pub. "What the hell's going on?" he asked. "I don't know," Kurt said, closing the door and locking it. "But I'm not going to leave the door long enough to find out. See if you can find the bar." Alex took the bar out from behind the curtain, and put it across the door. "Now what?" he asked. "Stay put, and I'll call the police," Kurt said. "Why? They'll probably get bored and wander off." A window broke. Someone was waving his arms around inside. "I guess not..." -------------------- ![]() |

Part 2
"Alex, catch this," Kurt said, tossing a revolver to him. Alex caught it, and took the bullets off the bar. "Still works, right?" he said, loading it up. "I wouldn't have given it to you if it didn't, you bloody idiot," Kurt said. "Hey, what about me?" Johnson said. "I've only got this broken bottle." Kurt disappeared into the back room. There was the sound of breaking glass, and Kurt came back into the bar. He threw something to Johnson. Johnson caught it. "Oh, that's bloody excellent!" he said. "You two get guns, and I get an axe." "Show me where the extra gun is, and I'll happily give you one, Fat," Kurt retorted. "For now, you're stuck with that." There was the sound of something hammering on the door. "They're still trying to break down the door," Alex said. "Let them," Kurt said. "That door's held back the living; it'll hold back the dead." "What about the back door?" There was the sound of something being hit around the back area of the pub. It sounded like the door. "Okay," Johnson said. "There are two options we can take here. Firstly, we can stay here, and try to hold the dead guys back." "And the other option?" Kurt said. "We go upstairs, and see if we can get onto the roof." "Yeah, that's great. What happens when we're on the roof, Fat?" Alex said. "We...we...we wait for help to arrive." "Oh, you think that there going to be some huge hand that comes out of the sky and lifts us to safety?" Kurt said. "Or maybe a rescue helicopter may just happen to go past?" "Look, it's better than staying down here and getting mauled." "I'd prefer to get mauled down here than die of starvation up there!" The other window broke. The doorframe suddenly separated from the door, and some dead people fell in. The three looked at each other. "Roof!" They ran towards the back room, and charged through the door. Kurt locked it behind them. "What bloody good's that going to do us, you dickhead?" Johnson shouted over his shoulder. "I don't know!" Kurt shouted back, running up the stairs after them. They reached the fire escape, and went out onto the stairs leading down to the street. It was literally packed with dead people. "Quick, help us up onto the roof," Alex told Johnson. "We'll pull you up after us." "Gotcha," he said, making a stirrup with his hands. Alex climbed up onto the roof, and helped pull up Kurt. The two of them together pulled up Johnson. "You need to lose some weight, Fat," Alex said, checking the bullets were still in his revolver. "What makes you say that?" "I can't feel my arms, mate." The fire escape burst open. A dead person looked up - right into both barrels of Kurt's sawn-off. Alex and Johnson turned at the sound of the blast. "Bloody dead people," Kurt muttered, reloading. "Come on, let's go." "Where?" Alex asked. Kurt picked up a plank, and took it to one edge of the roof. It led onto another roof. "If we follow the roofs, we might reach the edge of town," he said. "And maybe get a car." "Sounds good to me," Alex said, snapping the cylinder of his revolver back into place. "Let's go." -------------------- ![]() |

right...worked out part three...did i say feedback's welcome? feedback's welcome. lol.
Part 3 The three ran across the roofs, Kurt putting down the plank for most of them. "I hope there is a car when we get there," Johnson panted. "You and me both, Fat," Alex said, looking down at the masses of dead people in the streets. They crossed another roof with the plank. Just as Johnson put his foot on the plank, it split. Alex threw himself onto his stomach and grabbed Johnson's arm. "Aargh!" Johnson screamed. "Pull yourself up, you fat bastard, you're pulling my arm out of my socket!" Alex shouted. Johnson grabbed the edge of the roof, and together Kurt and Alex pulled Johnson up. "That was a pretty good plank you just broke," Kurt said. "How heavy are you?" "About...fifteen stone." "When - if - we get out of this, we're going to send you to a fitness camp for the next two years." They kept on going, and climbed down once they reached a small, shoddy house - Johnson's house. "Got a car?" Alex asked. Johnson laughed. "I'm a student," he said. "You think I'm going to have a car?" "True," Kurt said. "He spends most of his money on bloody food. His student loan went towards his bloody shopping bill!" "Don't worry," Alex said. "We'll just go to a car showroom." "One problem," Johnson said. "What?" "There may be cars there, but will there be fuel?" Kurt squinted down the street. "There," he said. "A second-hand car showroom, right next to a petrol station." "Okay," Alex said. "Let's go." "Hang on, hang on," Johnson said. "I want to grab some food first-" "Get some at the petrol station!" They walked down the street cautiously. Johnson took his axe in both hands. "I hope we don't get jumped..." he said. "Join the club, pal," Alex said, his revolver ready. The three kept going, and reached the petrol station. Alex grabbed a petrol can and began filling it up with fuel. "Kurt, go get a car," he said. "A decent one." "Got it," Kurt said, running to the building behind the cars. "And Fat, you- Fat?" Alex looked around, and saw Johnson taking things off the shelves in the shop. He sighed, and kept on filling up the petrol can. Kurt came running back just as Alex picked up another can. "I tested a car," he said. "It works." "Good. What is it?" "Lotus Elise." Alex threw down the can. "What bloody good's that going to do us?" he said. "Well, it's fast, it handles well-" "It's also a two-seater car, you bloody idiot! Even if we could fit Fat in the back, we'd be going out of this town on the back bloody bumper!" Johnson came out of the shop, one hand carrying the axe, the other carrying a lot of bags. "Found a car?" he asked. "Fat, go find us a decent car," Alex said. "Gotcha," he said, and went off in search of a car. Two minutes later, he appeared round the corner in a Subaru Impreza. "Move over," Alex said. "I'll drive." Once Kurt had filled up the car, Alex turned to the road. And froze. The whole street was packed with dead people. "Oh, shit," Kurt said. The dead people started shambling towards the petrol station. An idea suddenly came to Alex. "Johnson," he said. "Yeah?" "When we get clear of the petrol station, shoot one of the pumps." "With what?" Alex handed his revolver over. "Make sure it hits," he said. The dead had shambled off the street, and they were going through the petrol station. Alex sped out onto the road, and Johnson fired one shot. The explosion was huge. Alex had got some distance, but that didn't stop him from avoiding the massive burning corpse that landed on the front windscreen. "Bloody hell!" he shouted, skidding to a halt. They got out, and looked at the carnage. "Now that," Kurt said, "was a good shot. Nice one, Johnson." "Just doin' my job," Johnson said. "You don't have a job," Alex reminded him. "Come on, let's get the hell out of here." -------------------- ![]() |
