I have an AMD Athlon XP +2000
512MB DDR333 PC2700 RAM ATI Radeon 9600 PRO 256MB Windows XP Home High-Speed Cable Connection = 5000Kbps down, 640Kbps up These system settings can handle the new source engine but apparently not this. Any suggestions? |

What type of lag, internet lag or game lag, if it's internet lag it's either server or your behalf.

Spyware or adaware i guess.
Try this, Clix me It the version of BB 1.2 without gore, it may stop the lag problem. If it is spyware or adaware good programs are, Adaware SE plus, Nod32 and Spyware search & destroy, i'm not intimidating you i hope by saying you don't know these, just every body doesn't. -------------------- |

Theres no way that he should be lagging FPS wise .. I hardly lag with my specs (except in areas with lots of models, due to my CPU speed being bad and choking input from my graphics card)
Try fps_max 99 Also, I heard that for some reason HL (MIGHT) lag on higher end systems because of the vm it creates doesn't use up all of the cpu / gpu power (I'm iffy on this .. ) but the main reason is that the hl engine just can't fully utilized the system specs. (for example, the graphics is trying to apply 8x aa to brainbread, but obviously hl didn't support 8x aa at that time ..) Just a theory. Probably not right =x my specs: 850 mhz overclocked duron 768 mg (133 mhz bus clock) ati radeon 9800 pro (running at 4x agp choke cause of motherboard) And for heaven's sake, don't do the nogore. the gore gives the whole cheesey zombie feel, but i would rather have the game play well without gore, then it lag to bits. -------------------- |

My system specs

Anything under a combined 1000 w_poly and 10000 e_poly I get 100 fps. It starts to go down when it is higher than that. Mainly because HL wasn't designed for that...
The only two console commands I used are: fps_max 100 fps_modem 0 In addition, I turn off my vid card's VSync. I think I am going to garner a lot of hate for this...  Specs: Two 3.4 GHz Intel Xeon Processors 2 GB Ram Two 160 GB internal HDs and one 200 GB external HD with Firewire and USB 1.1/2.0 NVIDIA Quadro FX 1300 -------------------- BB Maps I've made...
