As far as my limited zombie knowledge goes, armor would do very little in the ways of protecting you against infection as even when armor/heavy clothing is worn, people still get infected as the zombies target segments of the body that are armorless. So unless, as a survivor, you come by full body tactical armor, it really would not help much...

Some full body tactical armour would be nice but where in heavens gate would you find that sort of thing?

This is all overlooking the truth of the matter that the devs will most likely not implement armor as effective as full body tactical armor...
