Well this idea is to change the sprite, yes this could be done as a normal from community release, but then that would mean that only a few would use.

My idea is to change the zombie sight (Where you see a human from a distance) to an organ sprite, something like this.

Also, perhaps warmth coming off the bodies to give an outline of a human shape.
Zombies are meant to know who's who from the body tempature,

zombies = Cold
Humans = Warm

My other idea is:

When turning into a zombie, your camera moves out of control (like the 3rd person spaz attack), Eye sight goes blurred and your aim becomes expanded and your movement becomes slower.
This gives the feeling that you are dying and turning, once you turn this all slowly goes away.

The sprite could be done now, and if liked enough added to the next patch.

Also while your turning, the scren fades to black slowly, then pops open and your a zombie

Personally, if it is changed to an organ sprite, it should be the heart and/or brain. Use that for survivors blocked by objects and switch over to a glowing outline of some sort for those within line of sight since there have been some complaints about the sprite making it hard to hit.

Though this should come after all the updates/bugfixes for 1.3 are done.

When youre a zombie and u already run fast wouldnt it be cool if you could like jump on walls just for a moment like 1 second and then u fall of so u could go hopping from window to window , it would make it more fun for the humans too shoot at them..

No, it is not a little suggestion. The amount of coding required would be very substantial, and debugging and beta testing it would also consume a large amount of time. And how does the size of a suggestion have anything to do with explaining why it can/should/will not be done?

Also, that suggestion is completely unrelated to the suggestion current under discussion in this thread, so it should be in a seperate thread, not here.

All this aside, I will point out two reasons (for now) why this will not happen.

- When running/jumping near walls (especially in any sort of enclosed structure), players would jump on the walls when they did not want to do so which, depending on the implementation of this feature, could have very annoying consequences.
- The general theme with zombies is that they lack to motor capacity to preform complex manuvers, so how is a player zombie running on/springing off/latching onto a wall going to fit with that theme?

I can post more reasons if you could please clarify exactly what the player zombies are doing on the wall. Are they walking/running on the wall (vertically and/or horizontally); jumping from the wall; attached/latched onto the wall at a single point?


If you still want to persue this suggestion, make a seperate thread for it, please do not hijack another suggestion.

and NO it wouldnt be frustrating or would ppl jump on wallas they didnt need to because if u bothered to play NS as a sculkyou would know that holding Ctrl prevents you from climbing or running up any walls, and when youre a zombie on BB Ctrl does nothing, so it all fits in niceley happy.gif

next time think about sumfin before you start critisizing it.

I have bothered to play NS, and I do know that holding crouch (which may not be the control key) disengages you from a wall. However, that means in confined and congested areas, a player zombie will have to continously hold crouch or make a script to toggle crouching in order not to get stuck.

Also, you did not address the second issue I pointed out nor did you clarify exactly what the player zombie would be doing on the wall.

Finnally I would like to reiterate two things that I just said:
- This suggestion is completely unrelated to the suggestion current under discussion in this thread, so it should be in a seperate thread, not here.
- If you still want to persue this suggestion, make a seperate thread for it, please do not hijack another suggestion.

I think the outline sprite should be tighter to the body and have larger aura.

And, as immoral said, if it were to be an organ it should be the brain (although the brain isn't an organ tongue.gif).

I'm just happy so long we don't opt out for a HL default "glowred" command type deal that another mod that we know has..... ph34r.gif

But pertaining to both suggestions .. zombies can't leap off of walls. Only those crazy zombie tongue-licker dog-things can.

As for a differant sprite system, I think its a smashing idea =p
