You may have saved the .tsk wrong*, saved it to the wrong directory.. or you're not killing Fred. Fred has to be killed before the zombies spawn. I basically wanted the Fred battle to be like the battle with John in the movie (replacing the pool cues with guns).

*Look in your brainbread/maps directory. Check and see if "bb_winchester.tsk" reads "bb_winchester.tsk.txt" That happens sometimes if you don't watch what you save it as. Be sure to set the file type as "all files" and not "text file". Or something like that.

Also, I tried it out just now and it works just fine, with the updated .tsk file on the previous page. You might also try downloading the file again, and see if that helps.

You can get it on the front page of the BrainBread website. Should be a little thing at the top with the latest maps listed on it. Or you could go to the "User Maps" section under Downloads.

Apparantly this map has either confused people with the .tsk issue, everybody's lost interest in Shaun of the Dead, the maps sucks, and/or the map's too short. Nobody's mentioning it, no servers are running it...

Eeeeh... I'm thinking about pulling it down and continuing work. I made as close to events of the movie as I could... maybe this time I should try a little bit of creative license. I'm thinking now of adding John's apartment, the hallway behind the pool table (where I assume the bathrooms are), and several new missions (Maybe, I dunno, Big Al claimed John had a briefcase full of cash hidden behind some fake painting in his room, and you have to go get it, or something).

Allright, the map is down, for the moment. I've added the func_conveyor entity in (thanks fcuk), and thought of a clever way to have the windows break (similar to what Shoot me suggested, but I have little invisible func_breakables instead). Now the initial zombie break-in looks and plays loads better. Most of the zombies linger in the windows, and a few make it in. It actually feels (somewhat) like you're fighting them off rather than just blowing away random zombies for kicks. It also pads the length out somewhat. Now I just need to add in the bathroom (random case locations), John's apartment (random case and Fred location*)... do a bit of lighting adjustment, aaand that's it. Oh, and the cellar (tried to get around it, but it just doesn't feel right without the cellar).

*Yes, this would deviate from the movie, but don't worry.. you'll still hear the song as you're fighting Fred).

Pretty soon I'd wager. I've pretty much got the hang of the Hammer editor now, so knocking off a few extra rooms/missions/events shouldn't be that hard. The only thing that may slow me down a bit is a couple of essays due in a couple of weeks, but I'll probably get those done in one weekend. Soo... within a month. Month-ish.

Edit: Map done, you go get. Or not.

Also, an important note: If my old map is on your server's rotation, PLEASE D/L THE NEW FILE TO REPLACE IT. Otherwise I'm going to get a bunch of emails from people asking where all the new stuff is, when the new file gets overwritten automatically by the old file.
