ok... thats the problem:

After hours of trying to install halflife 1(german version) with the mods BRAiNBREAD and VAMPIRE SLAYER i figured out that i'll need STEAM now(boooohhhhhhooooo).
I followed the steps posted in this link to set it up:

http://www.ironoak.ch/forums/index.php?showtopic=2241&st=15

vampire slayer is working fine now.

brainbread does not.

I downloaded the file brainbread-v1[1].2-win32server.zip 3 times from 3 different servers now.
I unzipped the file into the G:\games\steam\steamapplications\......\halflife folder.
I can start brainbread now with steam or a halflife.exe shortcut with the parameter -game brainbread but if i want to set up a server i dont get any further than to the mission briefing screen.
No ok-button, no player-selection screen.Sound is working.
If i open the console it reports following errors:

BUILD 2834 SERVER (0 CRC)
Server # 1
Loading faders from pe_faders.cfg... done

Adding auth server 65.73.232.253:27040
Adding master server 69.28.151.178:27010....

Same thing if i want to join an online game.
I recognized that steam creates a new folder in G:\games\steam\steamapplication\.....\halflife.Its called brainbread_german.There is a SAVE folder in it and 2 other files(config.cfg and settings.scr)
I didnt find the hud files in my brainbreadfolder neither in the 3 zip files i downloaded.

So whats wrong?
Where the heck are these files?
Please help me.

Tried reinstalling? That solves alot of problems...

--------------------
This is what Ive said for the past couple months every time has requested source: BB source is highly unlikely because the mod team (Ironoak) has decided to use the crystal engine to create an rpg, although they have said there is a small chance of going to source but please, for the sake of all mankind, do not request a port and/or create polls, or even useless threads about the porting of BB, because it is most likely not going to happen, thank you for reading.

You can not play the game with the server install. That is your problem, download the client install, not the server install.

You can play on a lan if you have steam...you can't use a non-steam install for anything other than single player anymore....WON is totaly dead and stuff and I dont think lan even works on it.
