well this is sorta off topic. It isn't a bug or anything but all of a sudden my OpenGl cut off and desn't work anymore so anyone know how to get this to work again. Like where to download it or get the ATI driver working again.

And i've downloaded the driver program again and this didn't help. half Life 2 and Counter Strike don't work anymore either cause of this.

You know why? cause its ATI!!!!,half-life original and its mods, were built for OpenGL,which is the nividia GeForce...WAY better than ati, sure ATI is the reccomended for half-life 2,but that is only a 1-2 fps diffrence, and ATI is for D3D(WHICH SUCKS COMPARED TO OPENGL)best bets would be,destroy that ati card, and get a GeForce series card,or reformat your computer and check out then.

wtf are you guys talking about, OpenGL neither *belongs* to ATI or Nvidia, it is opensource. As for half-life the irony is Half-life 2 was *specifically* designed to be optimized with ATI cards, but in reality, it runs horribly on ATI hardware, lol.

P.S. OpenGL is installed by default on all OS running 95 or later. You cannot uninstall it (at least, you shouldn't), nor do you need to update it.

Video card driver updates can be found at www.ati.com

I didn't say it didn't support OpenGL....I said Nvidia owns ATI ...which it does...Nvidia is like way better for your money and is more stable and has a cooler name smile.gif

my post was aimed at that ^^

I would tend to agree with you though Hobo, since I have an Nvidia 64mb tnt2 ultra on my old comp and an Ati 256mb 9800 XT on my new one, and I've had a better experience (performance wise and driver wise) with my tnt2. However!! you can't just make a general statement that will apply always, case in point:
as of a year ago when I bought my new comp it was either the Radeon 9800 or the Gforce FX, and everyone knows that last year's Gforce FX was incredibly shitty and Nvidia fudged its performance results just in an attempt to keep up with the radeon. Basically, the market fluxuates in quality periodically, between Ati and Nvidia. I think anyone would have a hard time pitting the new x800 against the new Gforce FX.
