Hello my name is Seth Walker and I work for Oraculus Studios. I am from Public Relations and a general consultant from the Half-Life mod, Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect.
It has been brought to our attention that a lot of our models have appeared in a recent Resident Evil Model Pack for the Half-Life modification, Brain Bread. This was brought to our attention when a new Oraculus Studios team member who frequents these forums pointed this out to us. Almost half of our object models have been used in this map pack. Before this thread turns into an all out war, I have already gathered proof to show what has been stolen. In the series of images to follow, Ive opened up the folders for the Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect Alpha model folder (top window) and the map pack used (bottom window). I also have two pictures for each example: One with the proof of the source folders and creation dates, and then the models. This first image shows our bookcase for the RPD.  The model on the left is the Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect Model. The one on the right is the Brain Bread Map Pack. Next are the two properties of the files, lined up for comparison on creation dates.  As you may notice, the creation date says July 20th, 2004. Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect was just beginning right then. To my knowledge, Brain Bread has just recently been released, and the Model/Map pack was created near the end of December 2004, Early January 2005. So why would the Map models have a date well before the idea of the map pack came to be? This next example is a comparison of the lady statue from Resident Evil 2 for our Raccoon City Police Department (RPD) Map.  This time the Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect Model is on the upper right, while the Brain Bread Map Pack one is on the lower right. I put them this way so you can see the file names in their respective folders. The next image is once again the properties for each model.  Please notice the end file extensions as well as the dates. This is proof that Im not just placing models into folders for the fun of it. The model was created on July 31st, 2004. Way before this model pack was released. The final image is a side by side comparison of the pedestal used in our RPD map. This is the pedestal used in the room where Leon (or Claire) sees the licker run by the window. In the center of the room there is a round pillar like table.  Once more the date is a key factor. The two models presented are the one from Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect and the Brain Bread Map Pack. Also notice in the folder for Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect, the model named Chessthing. This was the first concept of the model you see before you. After a bit of working around and checking IP addresses we found out who had leaked our models to the public. On our forums (and many others) his name is Temp; a sad man who wants nothing but his own personal gain. Betrayal and cutthroat tactics are his game. On the Brain Bread forums his name is Memnon (A name similar to our own Texture Artist, Menome). He also uses the Alias _ without quotes. He came in contact with a few other forums members (Mainly [MGS] Liquid Snake) and distributed our models to him. As of right now, there is no way we could possibly stop the map pack from circulating or being downloaded. Its a stupid thing to think. But we would like for those who created the map pack (I believe it is Rusty, Omega 1.5, and [MGS] Liquid Snake) to credit us for the models at the end of this post. If you need proof like the pictures above, I will be happy to get more pictures for you. If you can put that the models were taken from the Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect Modification in your map pack and wherever that map pack is distributed, we on the Oraculus Studios team would greatly appreciate it. Also we would like for the people on the Brain Bread Team to post on their main page about this incident, as to inform the community on the problem and that it has been solved. The last thing I want is for us to be on bad terms with the folks at Brain Bread. Like those on the Oraculus Studios team, the staff at Brain Bread put their heart into the work they do. They work really hard and have created some really great games. It is sad and unfortunate that something like this has happened, but I know the situation can be resolved peacefully.  i had no idea that stuff was from you guys mod. sry about that guy leaking your stuff though. you'll have to tell this to omega sense he's the one doing the map. i've just been helping him with models and stuff (i'm guessing he got the models from liquid snake sense i didn't have them before the last map update) hmm btw where has omega been lately? i haven't seen him around. |

yeah perhaps, but i call him this because he assumes that me, omega, and liquid snake distributed the models(which i didn't because i had nothing to do with whatever was going on) i really wish that the devs of that mod would have contacted me about this because i just found out about it by reading this thread. |

well i don't think they're jealous. i donno what the deal is with them though, i went to the site to try and tell them but the guy thinks i'm one of main people who has been passing around the models. the only models i have are the ones that i had gotten from omega's map, and i had only gotten them when he had released the currenct version of the rpd map along with everyone else on the forum. |
