Hi, this is my first BB map. I've had a little experience form playing around with the editor. This will be my first public map. I just started work on it, and I want to show you guys everything, from start to finish, so I can know if I do something wrong or should do something else.
Go to http://supersoup0.tripod.com/brainbread/ to see pics. Any update I'll anounce here.

please dont show in editor shots, wait till you have some ingame shots to show us. right now the map looks really blocky, especially the cliffs, and flat and boring. spice it up by adding some hills and stuff

Blender most people who have meaningful judgement think an editor pic is better, as it allows for a full bright look at arch. and other elements.

Or it could just be me tongue.gif

seeing the lighting makes the map look much better and you can compliment it better and see how to improve on the lighting

Yeah, the hills are blocky, but bear in mind this is a Pre Pre Alpha Pre Alpha type pic. It will look much better later on, I just wanted to give you guys a little idea as to what I'm gonna do. As for the missions, you will fight your way through ravines to a town, find a radio there, and fly away. If anyone would be so kind as to think up a story as to WHY you're doing that, be my guest happy.gif I would also like some sounds. Some running water, a scream, I'll want more but that's all I have planned now. My mic's broke, or I would do that myself.

AS one of the new screenshots says, you'll have little ammo and you'll be in combat practically from the start. Sometimes you'll have to run from battles.

Do you guys think it'll be to hard?

Well theres a lot missing in editor screenshots. Its nice to be able to see where entities and triggers are placed, and all-bright does help if its going to be a dark map however.

You still dont really get a good representation of the atmosphere of the map. You can have the best architecture in your map, but if youre lighting sucks, well so does the map, usually. Even better than screenshots are early versions of your map. Giving people the abilility to run around in your map allows them to see what its really going to be like.

Then you can get much more input on lighting, sounds, event placement and timing, zombie and player start spawn placement etc.

I can see where an editor screenshot can come in handy if there are VIS, texture alignment, spawn location, map holes, HOM areas, and other general troubleshooting situations, but they really just dont, represent what will be the finished product well.

Tehsupersoup: It looks good so far, but you might want to tweak the blue lighting in images 2 and 3. It makes the tree sprite and sky look out of place.

Sounds like it. tongue.gif If you have really open areas though, its usually not too hard to run from the zombies. You might try making some choke points in your map to put pressure on players.

Yes, blender, you are correct, skullky is a funny and nice guy, 100 points.

He posted VHE screenshots obviously because he can't/and or no point compiling at this stage, he just wants to show a small preview of the map.

The tree and sky do look bad. That won't be the final sky and tree though. Is it okay for me to go and change their tree? I need a good night sky, but I can't figure out how to use BB skys. Also, those ingame screenshots are just because Blender wanted them, otherwise I wouldn't have compiled. I thought of a story, that sorta uses Blenders idea, but its different also.

Ok, I'm gonna need a beta tester. I'll release the map to said person whenever I want them to try something. Like now, I'll have them tell me how the fire ring looks, just little things in the map. Anyone want to?
