First off, I'd like to say I really love your mod, and I appreciate all the hard work and criticism you take on behalf of what you've made... I don't intend to be insulting with any of the things I suggest, and I hope you can seriously consider them. I also really enjoy the large array of diverse weapons in the game, but a few seem to have strange damage properties. The only one I care enough to go into is the flamethrower though.
As a weapon that's supposed to be the freaking bane of zombies, why is it that it takes half a minute to kill a single zombie with flamethrower? It's ammo is so limited, and it's a rarity to see it in maps, so I think it would sure be safe to turn up the damage on it and make it one of the higher-end guns you can get. Also, what's the deal with Fred? Sure he's tall, but he doesn't seem ALL that mutated. Even his clothes look like they were made for a man as tall as him. I'd like to see him look a bit more grotesque. And I'm not just talking about the battle damage he gets after being swarmed by players. Like he actually WAS human, but now has extra organs or growths on the outside of his body. Dare I refer to something Resident evil-ish? I mean, I don't want to say this needs to be like a licensed zombie game, but something more horrible then 'Tall Farmer-man who walks around slowly' would be more.... intimidating. ![]() This next one is not something that could be put in immediately, but I'd like it if you considered putting in a few different 'Fred-like' boss monsters for your levels. I mean, like a few choices of who the mapper wants to be the big bad guy waiting at the end. Something to give the mission a little more variety. [EDIT]: One thing I almost forgot to suggest, it would be cool if players only turn into zombies half the time (or less) after being killed by AI zombies. This would help prevent people from running up to zombies just to pick on the human players. I always thought it was a little strange that they can never really kill a person. Maybe you can have a server-side variable to let each one determine how often people should transform. Being fragged is a bit more punishing for getting too close to a zombie after all. Makes it more of a struggle to keep them at bay. Once again though, great mod. I don't suggest these things to be hyper-critical, but just hope to see a couple things. Hi, and welcome to the forum!
You have some good comments, let me try and answer some. (These aren't facts) I guess the flame thrower doesn't do much damage because it's more of an area spread weapon, and zombies can't feel pain, making the flame thrower less threatening against them. It depends with the zombies, because if you're on a server with lots of people, the zombies are stronger to balance things out. Whereas if you're alone, they're very weak. I guess thread is mutated in the style of his strength, not exterior. I think new creatures are going to be made, but don't take my word for it. I think turning into a zombie is worse, because when you get killed, you spawn and you got togo through it all again, nothing much to loose, whereas if you spawn as a zombie you have to fight to spawn as a human. -------------------- ![]() |

I like the die\mutate variable. Say, when the bar goes all over, you "die". You fall down to the floor. Then, there's a 50\50 chance of lying there for some time, just dead. The other, you pop up again, zombified.
