There exists no "unified" definition of a zombie, other than they're dead, but not dead. Many movies have them slow and shambly, many give them most of the same characteristics as a normal human. IMO, zombies, at least in this game, are rotting flesh sacks who have deteriorated brains. None of the former would facilitate anything much more than shambling and swiping (no running, no jumping, no door opening, climbing, etc.)

Well, as I said I didn't have a problem with there being a lot of pistols nor did I say I wanted more guns. The problem is they don't stand out from one another. If there is any way to make them different I'd do it. If not take them out to make room for better or more distinct guns.

They aren't balanced, they are gimped and impractical. There is no point in putting in a "super weapon" that you can't reload if it isn't better than any of the other guns... not to mention making it WORSE. Gimping is not balancing.

I don't want to use it to my advantage. Standing 7 inches off the ground is just lame and makes the game easier than it needs to be. As far as going around zombies as they are spawning, as it has been said before, you have to REALLY go out of your way to get around (5 or 6 feet). Also, a lot of the times because the zombies spawn so quickly you'll shot a zombie that is infront of a door and it repawns before you can run past and you get stuck in its standing up animation (which they are invincible during).

What is Brain Panic?

Well they are screwed because the guns need some work! It is obvious that some of the guns are stupid and impractical (flame thrower and mini-gun, I'm looking at you) or aren't unique enough and make it a matter of esthetics. Well this gun looks cooler but is exactly like all the others. I think the BEST solution to this would be to get ride of a lot of the guns. Think them out a bit more. Also, making SKILL requirements for the better guns. Make the mini gun do lots of damage and be able to kill with chest shots but make the SKILL requirment a big investment. Yeh he has a mini gun but all his points are in SKILL.

For example make some guns 0 skill: Sawed-Off, Glock, Berretta. Then make the better guns a bit higher, say 5: Revolver, MP5. Then the good guns even higher, 10 SKILL: Pump (if it is changed to kill with one headshot), Winchester Rifle, UZI, M16, AK-47. Make the SR-25 sniper rifle 15 SKILL. And the uber badass guns up to 20: Flame thrower and Mini-guns (upgraded damage from current version obviously). This would balance guns and allow you to make more distinctions between different guns. Also it would make you think a bit more about how you spend you points.

I think my suggestion of making the players have X ammount of lives before they are turned into a zombie for the rest of the map seems pretty reasonable. Also, if they are so against PVP why have the players turn into zombies at all?

This is exactly my point. Also, the minigun kills with two shots to the head either way... as do most of the guns. I think the problem with the guns really lies in the fact that it really doesn't matter what gun you use it just turns into a game of who can shot the zombie in the head twice the fastest.

As I said about the guns above I think the best solution to the problem of the guns is to give each gun a skill requirment, make them all stand out from each other a bit more, and make the flame thrower and the mini-gun worth it.

I just read Blak-Dragon's XP improvement and I think I'll tac that onto my post here. I think it is a GREAT idea.

This mod has a lot going for it. It just needs some polishing up. The more and more I think about it the best way to balance the weapons would be to implament skill requirments for every gun. That or map makers need to stop putting every gun at the starting spawn.

I've killed a many transforming zombies. They just have a lot of health. they go from i health with no animation then they get a ton of health and start the transformation animation. Not invincible just hard to kill (for someone that's not a player zombie).

I said Brain panic as a way to say Brain Bread doing exactly what ZOmbie Panic did. It's like a witty thing, comparing those two and melding them into one mod in that word.

pump- sux. takes 3- 5 shoots until zombies died(tried evry way)
minigun- sux. it may take many zombies lifes, but in EVRY movie i have ever seen there havent been much miniguns, only in Predator and terminator.
flamethrower- it could be better, becuse it gets out of gase so soon.
pistols- they are all the same. and they suck.
axe- who thu fuck cares if the axe is good to have against one zombie, besides you have a hell to learn how to use the axe against zombies, i putted in an Katana and i killed better but it looked like hell.
2 pernament teams- well the existing thing isnt good at all, if a human become zombie they dont have to wait for so long until they turn back.
DOTD2004 zombos- for fucks sake! i mean like if the usual zombies arent fast then why are you? or dont the creators have the energy to change that? besides i HATE the so called zombie fans just becuse they have seen RE RE:A and DOTD2004.

and if we say like this: the mod is FUCKED UP!!! they dont take it for seriosly so leave the responsibility to someone else FFS.

well i cant see why people want to play this any more.

* no new skins

Actually, there is already a zombie mod made for half-life 2 called "The Bitter End" Also there is an update coming soon for this mod anyway.

If you hate the mod so damned much then leave. I like the concept, it's very fun when played as a team game and it has more guns than very many other mods. Let's have a looksee at how cs goes: Spawn, before have chosen among two exactly equal teams only with three diff guns and one diff skin. Buy stuff.Move around, shoot at enemy team. If you don't die, perhaps you get to defuse or arm a bomb, whoop tie doo. Round over, do it all over again.
The point I'm making is that as good as every game in this world gets repetitive after some time, but that's what I like. I know how to do stuff, and I have never played a mod with such ammounts of things to shoot at.
How often does cs update? every week, or maybe once every two three months? No mod updates with new maps all the time except for the fan made ones.
Thats another point you forgot! You get a steady stream of new content, made by the fans all around you!
