Well I have steam and I have tried to re-install but that didn't work and it still says the same.

its doing the smae thing too but i add it to my Hafe-life folder i did that because I CAN"T MAKE HAFE-life go to steam

i'd suggest reinstalling - but you've already done that, so i'd suggest downloading it again off a different mirror.
