The topic kinda sums up my problem. I tried searching the board, but it refused to search for LAN since it was only three letters, and perusing manually all I saw was a post from someone who readily admitted to cracking Half-Life and was having auth errors. (I have a legit version. Two.)

I haven't actually played it online in a while, but when there was a server up, it functioned. And whenever I tried to fire it up for a LAN game it froze a second after spawning, consistently, on multiple computers. I could kill Half-Life off though.

Brainbread's a nice change from the multitude of kill everyone games and mods on the lan, and I think it's the only one I have too since we didn't like sven-coop. But it doesn't work. Surely something like this has come up before, how can I fix it?
