JUSt the man! Yes there is a log created, just got zoners hl tools as well. Set it to compile with that. First it said brush out of world then it said wad file not found even though its right there!
See if ya can make anything out of this: Current hlcsg Settings Name | Setting | Default ---------------------|-----------|------------------------- threads [ 1 ] [ Varies ] verbose [ off ] [ off ] log [ on ] [ on ] developer [ 0 ] [ 0 ] chart [ off ] [ off ] estimate [ off ] [ off ] max texture memory [ 4194304 ] [ 4194304 ] max lighting memory [ 6291456 ] [ 6291456 ] priority [ Normal ] [ Normal ] noclip [ off ] [ off ] null texture stripping[ on ] [ on ] clipnode economy mode [ on ] [ on ] clip hull type [ legacy ] [ legacy ] onlyents [ off ] [ off ] wadtextures [ on ] [ on ] skyclip [ on ] [ on ] hullfile [ None ] [ None ] nullfile [ None ] [ None ] min surface area [ 0.500 ] [ 0.500 ] brush union threshold [ 0.000 ] [ 0.000 ] Using mapfile wad configuration Wadinclude list : [zhlt.wad] 0 brushes (totalling 0 sides) discarded from clipping hulls CreateBrush: (0.02 seconds) SetModelCenters: (0.00 seconds) CSGBrush: (0.00 seconds) Warning: Wad file '\sierra\half-life\valve\halflife.wad' not found Error: Could not open wad file \sierra\half-life\valve\halflife.wad Error: Could not find WAD file Description: The compile tools could not locate a wad file that the map was referencing. It doesn't see your WAD files. If your editor can't open the GCF files, you'll have to get GCFscape and extract them. But from what I can tell, it's not even making it to HLbsp, it stops right when it checks for your .wad files. And since it can't even see the default HL wad files, you either need to check your editors config file, or you need to verify that it can see the wad files or that the wad files are extracted.
EDIT: it looks like you're using the old hammer editor from the path it lists: \sierra\half-life\valve\halflife.wad You should have something like: C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your@email\half-life\valve\halflife.wad This post has been edited by Shoot_me on October 27, 2005 05:05 pm -------------------- Still mapping away!! |

I know i installed my old hl1 from cd to get to the wad file.
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your@email\half-life\valve\halflife.wad There is no wad in the steam hl1 folder. So do i need to extract the wad file with GCF scape? This post has been edited by hunter on October 27, 2005 06:58 pm -------------------- ![]() |

Well, either you need to point your editor to another location, or you need to make sure that the wad file is actually there. At least, that's what the error is for. -------------------- Still mapping away!! |

i had a similiar problem. i always had to keep two copies of my wad files, one the in hammer folder (so hammer could read it) and one in the folder where the game ran (bb, valve, whatever; so that the game could read it).
