Right,

For some reason, when I try to start playing BB or try to create a lan server, my comp tells me that my version of BB is out of date. I know that my version of BB is 1.2 and as far as I can tell, thats the latest. Can anyone help? My computer is relatively new, has a decent graphics card, and runs HL perfectly.

Yeah, thanks, I know Steam is my friend, but how do put on a game that desn't have CD key? Please help me out of this pit of n00bness!!

It doesnt have cd key? All versions that I know of have a key.
A little checklist, to see if everything's the way it's meant to be.
You have downloaded steam, and registered an account?
You have half life one, not two\source ?
You've installed Brainbread in the following directory Steam\Steamapps\your@email\halflife\Brainbread ?

This is just the most basic help, but you have no idea how many people that have forgotten one of these...

Ok, first off do u have a steam account?
Can you find your HL CD case?
Theres numbers on the case, did u register that key to your steam account?
If you try to play on the HL1 from the cd, i think it would give you that error...
