First off, my friends and I would like to thank the creators of Brain Bread and its talented community. We are disappointed that we have to rely on a counter-strike source zombie script to get our fix. We are wondering instead of a version 1.3 *if considered*, if the mod would be just ported over to source. Here is a quote from VERC.
Weve made this as painless as we could. We learned a lot through our experiences with TFC, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, and so on. This engine is much more modable than Half-Life 1 was, and the tool set has been improved a lot. Well also be releasing a bunch of material to help mod teams get their existing work up and running on the new engine. The new Hammer will load Half-Life 1 levels (.RMF or .MAP source files only). You will need to retexture, and youll probably need to redo most of the entities, but this is a major jumpstart compared to starting from scratch. Models will need a little touching up in QC files and also need to be recompiled in order to work in the HL2 engine. Again, you must have the original source data in order to do this. We will release all of our in-house tools for 3DSMax, XSI and Maya with the SDK. Almost all parts of the HL2 SDK will be a little bit familiar to those who have worked with the HL1 SDK. Of course, there are a lot of new features, options, and systemic changes to explore, but overall the modding experience for HL2 is very similar to HL1.. We hope you consider porting this game over to source, as it would allow this community to be more flexible and creative in the creation of new or old maps as well as models and such. -Raptor Red PS. It would be most amusing to have the physics engine set to high, as in our CS:S server, those zombies just fly across the map when you get a HS ![]() |

Sorry, this has been asked many times and will not happen, the team is currently working on a commercial game, a mmofps.

A plain port could be possible, you port the maps alone over, with no changes in graphics. It could take some time , as always.
BB source posts are standable when the poster takes some time to give arguments ![]() This post has been edited by Elite viking on December 12, 2005 11:57 pm |

Well a good idea is to just have the mod code ported. Then release the source maps, models etc for the community to redo. From there I'm sure the maps would become very creative with snow, rain and even fog. Our favorite map is Mall of the dead and the church one, those two maps I would personally love to work on for source.
I find using the Source SDK is more stable and easier to use then the old HL1 SDK for mapping. I was able to port cs_church2 over to source; however, the only minor thing I had to work on was textures, entities and triggers. If you port it, inspiration will strike. At least I hope this idea would be considered; as it is a shame that there are no longer any coop games out. LOL, Duke Nukem and the hordes of zombie babes. -Raptor Red Plus you have to admit after using the anti-gravity gun from HL2 in Ravenholm was just awesome. It could even be a super secret stashed weapon; to use it, you need 50 exp points! |

Ok I have a job now and I am willing to maybe donate some cash, so how about we get together and talk with the IronOak team and see if they would consider a source game if money was involved, im not sure how long I will be working because its seasonal and I dont know if they will keep me on afterwards but I could probably donate $50-100 if they were willing to make a kick ass game.

Why does everyone who joins ask about BB: Source? IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY AND A POINTLESS THING TO TALK ABOUT!
People have already tried to make BB: Source and have failed miserably. They halted because they couldn't think of any more ideas. Ironoak is working on an MMO which will take up their time of making BB: Source. Even BB 1.3 is unlikely. Immoral's list of things not to suggest says that BB: Source has already been brought up before. Blue Summer's sig notes, plain and clearly, what he has said to every member who has asked about BB: Source. (well, maybe not every member) About 75% of people here have looked into it and just think it's pointless. Brainbread is supposed to be Ironoak's "goodbye" mod for HL. They probably wont be making another Mod. Thank you for letting me have my say. Now as I commented last time: Please lock this thread as it is pointless to even think of BB going to source. -------------------- |
