everything seems fine until i reach the server. i click the ok button and it wont let me choose a character can anyone help???

Think to yourself these questions:
Have you installed it correctly? (SteamApps\username\half-life\ is the directory to install to) Have you pressed any of the number-keys (1, 2 or 3) that let you pick one? Have you got any custom models? Is the map you are playing on buggy? Is the server you are playing on buggy? Are one or more files corrupt? Have you deleted any of the files in the folder? Have you installed any plugins? Have you deleted any plugins? -------------------- |

yes
yes it didn't work.
yes but other mods works good + normal half-life too (custommodels are in half-life valve folder).
i tryed the normal standardmaps from v2.1.
can't be the servers... or are they all buggy?
no got no error messages.
no.
Plugins? What plugins? i think no.
Again... what plugins?
I need help i have the same problem how goingxblind. I hope u people can help me. I thank u... German: Ich habe exakt das selbe problem wie goingxblind es hat. Der screen von ihm spricht mir aus der Seele. Alles was ich kontrollieren kann ist im hintergrund ein wenig den spectator modus... Ich kann jedoch nicht das Fenster mit der Story wegklicken - auch kann ich keinen Spieler auswählen. Für jede hilfe bin ich dankbar.. Try just pressing 1,2 or 3 to select a player.

Hi!
any ideas ??? Update: If i press some butttons the story window goes away but now im in the spectator mode and cant control it... all what i can do is: watch down - up - left right.. in free spec mode more not, after the story folder was away i tryed it again with 1 - 2 -3 but there was no effect. .. i tryed it now without custommodels deleted the models folder in valve folder.... but i have still same problem. help me please - this mod looks fantastic i want to play it! greetings 23-down This post has been edited by 23-down on January 02, 2006 06:38 am |

Finaly it works, but not really good... how this screenshot will show u... http://www.ofp2-bbs.de/downloads/23-Down/errorZ.jpg I have big graphic problems.. the info dialogs are just black , radar is not really good... my hud is not present. i tryed to change my graphic to D3D but it says: it isnt supported. Any ideas? Windows Me AMD 2.6ghz Radeon 9800 pro 128mb ram 678ram (the ram modules) All other mods for hl works perfect for me... I play NS,CS,SC,DOD without any problems... so it must be something in the mod what my computer not like, i think... Another problem is "Crash to desktop" after some time... sometimes i can play for over 20 minutes. sometimes only five and the game crashs. uh... looks very weird. Maybe redownloading the exe might help. It shouldn't install when it's corrupted, though.

Got it!!
Oh no! I was so stupid! Good news.... I found out the big problem.... goingxblind and me downloaded the wrong version of the mod... We downloaded the server version and tryed to play with it. That was the reason for graphic problems.... A friend told me to download the client version and see there.... it works perfect now... It's embarrassing. but it has a good point. Now you people from @ironoak@ know about that error and can tell people who will download the wrong version too, to download the client version... to the mod itself... it's fantastic and funny... like it to kill these Zombie hords... Keep up the good work mod team. I want to thank again for all people here who tryed to help me... And now some suggestions for improvement, if ur want... -Zombies are really stupid they hang often in sandbags etc... u should fix that.... -Zombies or Human spawn sometimes in eachother and hang and cant move anymore. -Just a wish by me: Some more Zombie models would be nice... And maybe some Civilians who run away from Zombies.. could be funny... Just an idea.. - The spawntime of zombies and military, barnies is a bit too little. Should be some seconds more after spawn.. just my opinion, looks like most of the players like it so how it is in the moment. Remember this are just ideas and personal wishes. I like your mod as i said.. keep up the good work.. Can't wait much longer for the next version of it. And i'm sorry for my really poor english. I can only think in german grammar and that's different. greetings 23-down  |
