I have Hacked togeather a new Hgrunt for BB, I understand it has CZ content so ill just post the pic and get approval by the Ironoak team before i put up a link for downlad.

I have:
-used new guns.
-Refuced the polly count.
-Slapped on a 100% Legal combine head.
-Made a quick reskin here and there
-Added additive textures to make eves glow.
-Morphed the body model to resemble the combin soldiers.

ah, hgrunt for BB? or BB:S? Because it looks good enough for BB:S.. and if it's for BB.. how did you lower the combine's detal for Half-life1?

Please, increase their size. Yeah, neiko is right, theyre fatter than this. And what are you trying to make? Regular combine or metrocop? Metrocops are weak at guns, and they cant perform any closeup attacks.
If it would be a combine for fighting, change the eyes to yellow. Thatd bring the reality.

I always liked jimmy's work, right now im using your spec ops grunts v2 for bb.

Neiko, yea, the combine in HL2 are fatter but if i morph the body too much in order to make them fatter ill strech the textures. I may be able to find an alternative for this but that would mean using ported contents from HL2, and i believe that that would be edging a little to far over the line when it comes to using illegal content.

Hysterically Depressed,The grunt is for BB and HL1, there is no HL2 content in this model, the Combine head is from a hgrunt made some time ago and the body is from Counter Strike: Condition Zero. I have lowered the polly count on this model by removing all the pouches and other crap that was on the origional CZ model.
However, an easy way to lower the polly count is to use the Directx Mesh tool in Milkshape to reduce the number of triangles in the model, its like turbosmooth but in reverse.

iliketoblowzombieheadsoff, I'm intending to just make a generic Combine Soldier with my own personal touch. I might change the eyes, i have a few ideas that might look pretty cool.
Its nice to know you like my work, and its good to here my spec ops grungs are still kicking.

Skinny is better. Unless you like fatass Combine soldiers thats fine. Anyway, let me get to the negatives before I give out the "OMG SUPER COOLZ".

-First, skin the WHOLE hand to be covered. Combine never show off body parts and besides, the fingers are just out of place.

-Why'd you lower the polycount? I dont see a purpose in that. This makes the soldier himself too thin than he already is. I think the pouches should be left to make it look more realstic.

-This is just me being picky, but I think the head is just a tad too big. Leave it if you're going to fatten him, or make it slightly smaller

-Also, if you're going to unfortunately make the combine fatter, then you might want to find other textures.

-The last piece of criticism is the shotgun size. The shotgun is way too short, unless you were going for a shorty. It still doesnt look nice in my opinion.


Now on to the part that wont make you cringe. OMG SUPER COOLZ!!!

-The red glowing eyes is a nice touch.

-Also, the Combine symbol on the vest is hoottt.

-The texturing is pretty smooth too.

Another thing:

Someone already released a SAS player model from CZ that was supposed to represent Hunk, and it the Ironoak team didn't have a problem with it. So I don't think they'll have a problem with this, which is good, because I want to download it. So yeah, hope this can get released soon.

ALLLLRIGHTY THEN!

After some trial and error through out the day I have decided to leave the body as it is, making it fat whilst not using HL2 content looks like Shite and using HL2 content involves bone assigning, which looks Shite.

Security Corporate, ill fix up the gloves and i might fiddle around with the head.

I made this grunt with the intention of personal use only and i lowered the polly count because my pc is shit on a stick, on the final version I may put some of the bags back on.

The shotgun is a shorty but im thinking of enlongating it a little and adding the pump thingo onto it.

Hysterically Depressed im guessing you didnt get what i was going on about so ill dumb it down a little, The Hgrunt os for BB not BB:S, no part of the model is converted from HL2 and I lowered the pollys by deleating usles crap of the model.
If you are ever looking to reduce the pollys without deleating stuff use the Directx Mesh tool in Milkshape, this tool evenly reduces the pollys around the model and still keeps the models basic shape, it is like turbo smoothing in reverse.

oh haha, I was like.. milkshake.. polygons.... pouches... I thought we were hiring a polygon shaped kangroos that had hidden milkshakes in their pouches... but, you know what you said.. is all good too...

The download is up, however, since uploading it i have noticed that there are some gastly smoothing errors on the head. Does anyone know how to fix a problem such as this?

BTW, the DL is still up regardless.
