I'm new to the forums, so this might have been posted, but after I install BB and have the check in the "Launch BrainBread", it says "Unable to execute file: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\-Accountname-\Half-Life\hl.exe. CreateProcess failed; code 2. The system cannot find the file specified"

And if I try double clicking the icon, it just says it can't find hl.exe. I tried reinstalling Brain Bread, and the HL I have is Half Life 1 Anthologies.

Try downloading Brainbread from a different mirror. Delete your current Brainbread folder, and install this one instead. Some of the mirrors have screwed up BB downloads.

Alright..thanks..I'll try that now.

Tried the HLGaming link. Same thing happened.

I tried browsing, then clicked the icon that starts up Half Life. It's the regular Half Life title screen, but the games on the server are for Brain Bread. When I try to join one, it says something about the .dll of the server and mine being wrong. ON each, and every server. Is this supposed to happen?

Get it from the scmgames mirror, that's the 1 I use.

Ok first a check list of what you should do to play HL1 mods.

First: Make sure you have HL1
Second: Start HL1 up once and load up a map(training mission is a good1)
Third: Download BB
Fourth: IIRC The installation knows where to put the files, but if not. C:\Steam\SteamApps\USERNAME\half-life install it there
Fith: Make sure its installed, there should be a brainbread folder
Sixth: Restart steam
Seventh: Start up and play.

Anthology counts, right?

And the scmgames is Soloists Mod Central?

Did, but that damned stupid message about execution keeps coming up. Bleh, it just plain doesn't work.

The SMC link is the last one. Also make sure of the directory, you might still have the old directory as I do, which is
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\my@mail.com\half-life\brainbread

No, I put it as the Account name, not the email.
