Good point hunter. again a number of theories to do with this point.

1. The virus either creates the electrical impulses in the brain or stimulates the brain into creating them itself (hence why ompletely destroying the brain kills a zombie) same applies for parasites and chemicals. The virus would in effect occupy the brain and do the brains job, utilising the machinary of the brain and using it like a machine (another reason for jerky movement).

2. The muscles are stimulated directly without signals needing to travel from the brain. By this i mean that the virus has infected the entire body and resides everywhere throughout the body. Becasue of this the virus may stimulate the muscles or the the nervous sytem diretly without using the brain. This is more unlikely than the 1st idea simply because shooting a zombie in the head would have no more effect than removing a limb (ie it might slow a zombie down, but not by much)

in the second case you would most likely have to dismember the body completey, set it on fire, blow it up or otherwise completely incapasitate the corpse to stop it, making it nearly imposible to kill. If this was the case, then it is entirely possible that a severed arm could start crawling towards you and try to throttle you (Evil dead 2 anyone?) or that even if the upper torso was completely removed the legs of a zombie might be able to walk towards you (Brainbread 1 bug anyone?)

frohman: yeah George thought loads about different aspects of the zombie horde, physical and mental, thats why he has made some 3 of the best zombie movies ever made. The forth one is shockingly crap though, i was very disappointed. I think this was because it was co-produced and co-directed by some other random dude. That dude needs to be shot and killed so that george can make his uber dark and clostraphobic nightmare films again. *shrug* it aint gonna happen though

Lol I think its because of the game Brainbread with the "brain" word on it, so they put some stuff related to brains. That's my theory. Or zombies do live but can read and use the internet and live normal lives.

well if they want brain vitamins , they are eating the wrong meat
