Also, British humour can make you laugh about something that would usually make you want to cry.

this is a very good point. There is alot of sadness in the best comedys and this is something that alot of American sitcoms lack. Real comedy is all about sadness, its where humour comes from you see, the bad times aren't so bad when you can laugh at them.

examples in british humour

- The end of the 4th series of Blackadder, when they go charging over the wall. That whole episode is charged with a kind of strange resigned sadness about the characters finally having no other recourse other than going 'over the top'

or in Only Fools and Horses in the episode where Casandra and Rodney loose the baby and Del is telling eodney to be strong and not to cry and then bursts into tears as soon as he enters Casandras room.

This is where i feel american humour is lacking one important aspect. I'm not sure if its something that americans in general are prepared to accept and face in their lives *shrug*

lol you got a point the accent is funny...

When He opened the fourth seal I heard the voice of the fourth living being say, "Come!" Then I looked and saw an ash-colored horse. The name of its rider was Death, and Hades followed him closely. Authority was granted them over a quarter of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with plaque, and by means of the wild beasts of the earth.

Stereotype lesson #1

The Great British nation is perceived to have this "posh" accent, all over the world, which couldn't be more wrong, yes You do have the poshly spoken accents, but that's only a minority of the actual typical beer drinking scummy majority of the UK. olols

Everyone has a posh accent? Well you not coming up to west yorkshire though are you mine and civs territory!

A prime brilliant example of british comedy, has to be watched to the end or it wont be funny!
