Just come back from my first lesson! Was pretty excited! Think ive got my head around the clutch, almost! Fucking silly invention! Is anyone else currently driving/learning?

i should be able to get my licence tomorrow but i havent even got my permit yet... lol i have no real reason to drive anywhere everywhere i need to go is in walking distance... though once i move ill probably need to drive... im just being lazy really

Driving Test is stupid in Texas. They make you learn about driving tractor trailers... JUST TO DRIVE A CAR.
 I like didn't read the rules more than once. (In a 150 page book about driving), and failed the test twice by one question =/. So, I quit until my attention span grows. Although, I'd rather get to school by car in 2 minutes, rather than by foot in 10-15 mins =/ Or just plain drive anywhere. So I'm not limited to the 1 mile radius around my house for walking to stores =/. -------------------- |

I'm going to start my lessons after I've done my A-Levels. I can start driving whenever, but I really need those grades to get into university. -------------------- |

im 16 so that basicly means ,,, in two years ,, actually less than two years since im born in january but you know test and such.

If you're talking to me and/or hunter, then in the UK you have to be 17 or above to learn to drive and take a full license test (both theory and practical). In some places in Devon you can learn when you're 16, so you can take your test when you're 17, but I don't live there and hence haven't really looked into it.
While it's good that the age is high enough to ensure we don't get some 13-year-old chavs crashing into things with their 'pimped-out rides' (pfffft - duct-taping a body kit in a different colour to your car doesn't count as 'pimping') the insurance companies discriminate for age. If you try to get insured on a 2 litre engine car when you're below 21, the costs are either a.) astronomical, or b.) nonexistant, because the company won't ensure someone that young. It's alright for women, they get cheaper insurance (damn them) as they are thought to be more careful drivers who don't spend their evenings racing around trying to act like they're real street racers. So in conclusion, I hate insurance. Drives me nuts. ...wow, that was some rant... -------------------- |
