Now a days 512mb of ram is bad. Playing hl2 is going to be a nightmare for you. Levels are goign to load in minutes were as having 2gb gets you there in seconds.

Hl2 doesnt need more than 1gb of ram. But you will not be able to play hl2 with 512 ram you will just feel slowdowns evertime the game loads some new stuff into memory.

I'm hoping on buying at least 1GB of memory. I got my specs ready to put together, the irritating thing is just picking the right ones.

If you're looking to build a new gaming rig you really want to going for at least 2GB ddr800 - yes, you can survive on 1GB for now, but in a year's time the new games and aplications will struggle to run at all.

Don't just think Half-Life 2, think Crysis 2.

Hope that helps.

I see..

Yeah, I have 512 ram, played HL2. Loading a level took about 1-2 minutes.. I got tired of that but I never quit playing. It was so damn fun playing HL2 with my crappy computer. Finished it too! Huzahh!!

Anyways, is it hard to change/alter/enhance your Ram?? Do you need to open up your PC? Do you have to buy a new one? I might change leh ram when I get a job and get money.

Could be a bad emulator, or it's attempting to play in DirectX 10 or something lol.
