I think I've found the answer to stop environmentalists bugging me about car emissions and how I'm such a fascist evil person worse than Satan...
My source is a reputable British newspaper (yes, there is such a thing): The Times Here are the facts: Driving 3 miles to the shops gives out about 0.9Kg of CO2 through burning the fuel Walking 3 miles to the shops takes around 180 calories, needing 100g of beef to replace those calories, needing 3.6kg of CO2 to produce the beef! Drinking 420ml of milk instead to replace the 180 calories produces 1.2Kg of CO2  Looks like it's back in the car to save the planet, eh? --------------------  |

Modern cars don't produce black smoke - only really really knackered ones. Out of your car comes Carbon monoxide/dioxide depending on local conditions Nitrogen dioxide Sulphur dioxide Benzene Formaldehyde Polycyclic hydrocarbons Lead but all of this is no match for the global warming powers of cows' arses. But CO2 is the gas that is limited so much here in europe, and this just shows that they don't produce as much of it than you think. planes, for example produce just 3% of the EU's co2 emissions, so why are they being targeted so heavily? I think there is a lot more than meets the eye with the aparant "global warming." -------------------- |

see if you really want to help the environment you should change to energy efficient bulbs... i read an artical saying that changing 1 household to energy efficient bulbs is the same as taking 1 million cars off the road. and it should save you some money to...

Its no doubt cows produce things bad for the environment, but they are natural, and the ozone was fine before we invented cars and factories.

wow, are you sure about that? lol. I think I've found something similar here that says if every home in america changed one bulb to energy efficient, that's 800,000 cars' worth of co2 out the atmosphere. I've got some energy efficients in my home, but I've also got some wierd size spotlight fittings that can't take em  Such a shame because the combination of those lights and my pc hardware makes my room almost unbearable at night with the windows closed -------------------- |

First of all theres something wierd with the numbers, how would you need 1.2Kg of CO2 to produce 420ml of milk ? If I get this thing right. Also its a gas so why is it measured in kg's ? And theres more , the thing is that tree's use CO2 and sunlight kinda as food turning it into oxigen now when they are beeing cut off all the time theres less green friends to produce oxigen from unwanted CO2. Also driving all the time isnt a solution and taking no physical activity's will get fat and you die from heart disease if you do that.

exactly and when you die from heart disease youll be dead so youll no longer be hurting the environment problem solved! you also have to remember when a tree dies or is cut down it realeases all of the CO2 that it filtered into the air. Therefor, by clear cutting we are putting the CO2 into the air 2fold --------------------
