Good luck fella.

I only passed my test last month. No idea why I put it off for so long. I bought myself a Peugeot 206 1.4i on Monday. I can't stop driving everywhere.

Vrrrrooom!

Oooo, nice one smile.gif
I'll be driving a Fiat Punto 1.2 8V for the first few months at least. Doesn't sound much but I've put a small supercharger on it and now it goes like stink smile.gif

Well done on passing your test. You said you put it off for so long, how old are you now?

I'm 24. I used to just walk everywhere as everything is local to me *cough* pubs. wink.gif

Now I can drive to my nearest super market and pick up essential supplies... beer. biggrin.gif

I bet you've got a pretty high insurance premium as a new driver on a car like that tongue.gif
Hopefully by that stage I would have earned a 60% discount by then xD

Aye, the cheapest I can find so far is about £850 (I've currently got 7 days free insurance).

I've got a 'Toad' alarm/immobiliser install as well (worth £500). But unfortunately no certificate to prove it. I'm gonna have to send off for it. But that will bring my insurance down. Also I turn 25 in August which will bring it down again.

Just have to play the waiting game. biggrin.gif

My driving instructor brought a new car along today - instead of the usual Ford Ka it was a Citroen C3. Man, what a machine!
It felt so levely to drive. the steering was smooth and intuitive, the speed couner was a massive LCD display (like a calculator) and the tachometer was a thin strip at the top with an arrow running along it.

You can just see the cool display and rev counter here

The engine was excellent aswell: Low revs sounded like a tuned up rally car, you know, with that whistling sound (yeah, I know it sounds a bit daft, but it really did), and at 3000 rpm on the dot there was a suprisingly strong surge of power, but the car hardly rolled or tilted.
Magic smile.gif
I probably won't be able to get an insurance quote on one though, the one I drove was the 1.4i which pushes it on expensive side of group 3 sad.gif

*edit* hang a bout, that whistling could have been a turbo charger, which would make it a diesel... Hmmmm blubbern.gif

Unlucky, dude :S What are of the test is it that you fail? 'Cause if it's a specific part, maybe it'll be worth concentrating on that part before your next test.

I had no minor fails, just one fault which they failed me on - I braked at a set of traffic lights which had just gone amber, but for some reason the car didn't seem to slow down much, and so I rolled past the line just as they turned red, and so had to carry on.
